Australia's First Female Prime Minister will be an incompetent puppet.

I don't think Julia Gillard will be a puppet and she is certainly not incompetent. I got a very good impression of her whenever I say her on TV or read something in the newspaper.

I don't think it was the right decision to axe Kevin Rudd, though. Both NSW state labour :|~ and federal liberals :I-love-pork: keep doing it and both ended up with no competent leader left. It is disappointing to see this happen with our government, too. I think they should have all backed Kevin and bring him back up in the poll.

This whole education revolution perfectly demonstrates her incompetence, and her naivety.

In that area, she is/was a captive of the bureaucrats...

And education bureaucrats are the worst kind, mostly teachers who couldn't...

(I will grant Rum an honourable exception... :hehe: )

I saw some news of this on various atheist blogs trumpeting that Australia's new PM is "non-religious" and that this was a triumph of sorts, but none of them mentioned what her actual politics were. Are you folks getting an idiot who happens to be secular-leaning? (Remember, even if she turns out to be a terrible leader, console yourselves by chanting, "At least Sarah Palin can't run for office here".
Who needs a signature anyway?

She was voted in by the power brokers of the right-wing faction of the Labour Party, so democracy has triumphed!

Yes, but at least ours only needs to deal with uneasy power-sharing arrangements within one party, not two! ;)
