Simple 3 Peanuts

Post by oblivion » Fri Jun 18, 2010 4:25 pm

This is the peanut gallery for the third of a series of simple mafia games. I will be GMing this game.

Each game will have 12 to 15 players and will have a simple, no-flavor set up. The games will not necessarily have the same design, but you can count on some basics:

There may be some special town roles. If there are, they will be restricted to the following kinds of roles: investigative, protecting, blocking, killing.

There may be some special scum roles. If there are, they will be restricted to the following kinds of roles: don (views as town), blocking.

In this game, the vanilla town pm reads as follows:
You are vanilla town. You win when all scum have been eliminated.
This is a NO PM game. If your role PM did not specify that you can pm other players, then you may not privately communicate about the game with other players.

Game days will run 24 hours and nights will run 12 hours.

The first day starts at 7 PM BST and ends 24 hours later. Then game day 2 will start at 7 AM BST the following day and end 24 hours later.

Night actions are due one hour before the game day starts, at 6 AM BST or 6 PM BST, whichever is 11 hours after the end of the previous day.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you have a night action, please send your PM ONLY TO ME this time.

If you have questions that are specific to your role, please PM me. If you have general questions about the game, please ask them in this thread.

All Role PMs have been sent out. If you did not receive one, please PM me.

Even if you stay quite someone can call you a sonar contact.

Have we ever had a role blocker in these games?
In the LOLcat game, there was a mafia role blocker - RappingAgnostic. But, I suppose that game was much different than these smaller ones.

I don't mind dying on day one.

I still follow the game intently. :eddy:

I still consider I win if my team wins, even if dead on day one.
Is that correct? :ask:

I also get freaked by the introduction of new roles. like miller insane vig etc. :hyper:

However the freaking is getting less because I'm getting used to it. :smoke:

You win (or lose) with your team, no matter whether you survive to the end of the game or not.

This is true of both the town and scum teams.

some people think it's a scum tell.

I always have my status hidden when I'm playing a game, no matter what my role. Scum also watch for that, looking for signs of specials. When I'm vanilla town, I don't want to eliminate myself from scum consideration as a possible special because they might night kill me instead of a real special. When I'm a special, I don't want to leave around extra hints. The same issues pertain when I'm a scum or indie.
