I think voting for normal is random.higgs2 wrote:Day 1 votes are not necessarily random. I've seen scum flushed out on day one by someone notice a scum tell and getting a bw going. I try not to make my votes totally random.

Hidden status is often employed as a scum tactic to closely watch votes and then swoop in and divert the BW. Perhaps I'm just a bit jumpy, coming from a different Mafia forum as a guest of Oblivion . . .Normal wrote:We are posting with our online status hidden from view. I voted for Normal because he has experience with mafia, experience with most of the players here, and has seemed to have good judgement in the past.Magicziggy wrote:Why are we voting normal for mayor? Oh wise vikings, what is the story.

Yes I agree. Permanent hidden status is officially scummy unless you come out and say
"Hey i'm hidden but I'm here and i'll be posting something deep and meaningful shortly"

But I'm not hidden. My name is in white. What background are you using? Pro silver or... what?Zigmen wrote:Hidden status is often employed as a scum tactic to closely watch votes and then swoop in and divert the BW. A ringer? I'm flattered~Magicziggy wrote:Welcome ZM, There are many things to learn about mafia on Ratz.
1) Random votes for english soccer players who are not performing to their best
2) Random votes for anyone on day one
However as I suspect you to be a ringer whats the story with flushing out scum on day 1. Or should we just not vote.
My plan today is to wait until about midnight and vote for the one post driveby or possibly no poster. That's in about 18hours.
I am possibly one of the worst players I know of, but I do try.
Not voting on day one is always a mistake. It gives scum the first strike.
And random votes only benefit the scum team, even if it is just for one day.
I usually ask questions on day one and try to spot anyone deviating from what their stated intentions are later in the game. Sometimes we can get lucky on day one and pop a scum right off the bat. But, mostly, we gain valuable information when we play inspector.

Let's assume three mafia players and 9 town.
May be a variation on the special roles.

The RNG is very unlikely to be my final vote. Just messing about as we have whopping 24 hour day rounds to play with and dissect everything
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.
