Hey, if it's parody, it wins because it hits the mark. I've seen the reality of it.floppit wrote:I have my doubts...
I looked at the About site, got a bit suspicious at the 'Ja' poster http://atheism.about.com/od/religiousri ... stians.htm but by this one http://atheism.about.com/od/religiousri ... tality.htm - uhmmm... each to their own but I don't think that is genuine pro Bush. That and the next one has "alternative" interrogation with the speech marks, a commonly accepted means of being clear the speech marked word is a euphemism.
I don't buy it - sorry.

I don't think they're all fake, but some of them - well, like I said, I don't buy it.
I think some of the fundy cartoons, posters etc are truly awful, but then to me saying that being gay is an abomination is awful.

Have you seen the Ugandan (or possibly Nigerian) ant-gay clip, talking about not swimming with gay people because of 'anal leakage'?floppit wrote:I don't think they're all fake, but some of them - well, like I said, I don't buy it.

No but I doubt it would surprise me. Don't misunderstand, just because I think half those posters are parodies it doesn't mean that I think what fundy believers often say and do is any more acceptable - it isn't. I'd even go one further, get a group of people, get them to agree with each other about the nature of a group they dislike, add time, more agreement, some bonding and voilà - the group will go beyond discussion of acts and replace it with the core nature of the other group, they will justify what 'should' be done with them and invariably begin to describe them in sub human, fantastical terms (monster, devil, evil etc). It scares the crap out of me, it creates a steady flow of atrocity across the globe, reinforces prejudice and justifies death on a grand scale.Rum wrote:Have you seen the Ugandan (or possibly Nigerian) ant-gay clip, talking about not swimming with gay people because of 'anal leakage'?floppit wrote:I don't think they're all fake, but some of them - well, like I said, I don't buy it.

When I feel sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead.

It's hilarious how wrong this is on so many levels and how the people who produce don't realise that what they put on the poster is what THEIR agenda is not that of gay people..Animavore wrote:Actually I checked it up. It's a real Christian poster![]()
