Re: Simple Mafia 2 - Day 4

Post by irretating » Thu Jun 10, 2010 1:51 am

I'm going to check a GM role-balancing spreadsheet (yes, I'll link it for everyone) and see if it's possible/likely that there's a don in this game. Then, I'll let you know who I would vote for tomorrow.

The way I see it, if the vote moves away from me to someone else (and we're wrong and hit a town) then you'll come gunning for me tomorrow and we will likely lose the game. Beware doing that to Mantis, just because she's voted for useless.

If higgs2 is scum, you should all kick yourselves later on. If mantis is scum, she's played an excellent game :td: If Feck is scum he's stayed nicely under the radar. My gut feel is still that it's Normal.

But as I say, I'll get back to you before round end for my tip on who to aim for tomorrow.

OK, on Talk Rational there's a GM FAQ thread. In this post a balancing spreadsheet is linked. It's here.

If you input 3 goons (vanilla mafia) and 7 vanilla towns, 1 doc and 1 seer the game comes out at -0.5 i.e. pretty close to zero/balanced. So, a don would unbalance the game too far toward scum. I therefore think uselesstwit is cleared.

For me, that leaves Normal. My vote has been on him all round and I'll keep it on him.

Good luck, town.

BTW for those saying I'm applying emotional pressure or flailing, I'd just like to point out that we on day 4 of the game and it starts to hurt town to lynch town. Hence my vocal opposition to being lynched on bullshit grounds. But, seeing as there is no consensus on any particular person, it may as well be me to be lynched.

The post count I'm getting right now is

Normal - 1
Mantis - 1
Twinkie - 2
uselesstwit - 1

That look right to everyone?

Twinkie before you go, could we have your top three please?

Well since he was first to be voted, there's a chance that Normal could be voted out today.

For example, if I vote him, and either no one else votes or someone else votes him - than he's out. It all depends on the others too. But, I'm thinking that Twinkie is innocent.

Sorry Norm:

unvote Useless
vote Normal

Son's 13 birthday party, sorry I missed some of this.

I have to go with lynch the quiet ones, been burned too many times on that.
Many more times than with dons. And I guess I am convinced now that it is too small a game for a don so useless is back on my most trusted list.

Oh, ho ho ho. I thought we were going in a good direction, then I suddenly get lynched :hehe:

Unvote
Vote useless

I'm just out of bed, and reading quickly through the thread higgs, useless and mantis are my scum candidates. Not sure which order, but I put useless first.

welp.

This is not how I wanted to be proven right about uselesstwit.

I guess we start with the pros and cons again.

I can't believe this game is still going on.

It's only 5.30am here and I'm on my iPhone so I can't do any analysis right now. I'll be back later when I've done a play by play analysis on each of you. Anyone wanting to analyse my play will have to do it themselves (obviously).
