It's been fairly proven in the recent years how effective social networking really is. Its ability to connect and communicate with others has encouraged some of the world's most modern forms of revolutions and demonstrations. If millions can be made to stand up to despotic regimes using Twitter, what could be achieved with over 7 billion people on Facebook? I think it's ludicrous that we always look forward to the wonders of the future, when in reality, they're already here in their preliminary and already amazing form.

Global networking
With the constant advances and growing ubiquity of social networking, with more and more people participating in the online community than ever before, is there the possibility that one day everyone on Earth will be registered to one global social networking site? Even if purely hypothetical, what impact could this have upon the way we communicate and act as a species? I believe it really brings the world together, as if all we're all members of the same hive. We're channelling together from every country in the world, and it's going to lead to significant problems and opportunities in the future.

Re: Global networking
That'd be cool - I'd know when every single one of 10 Billion people watched a video about a dancing dog or lolled at a funny looking poo.

Amazing my ass.
All this social networking has given us myspace disease and farmville.
On the bright side, I won a lot of points with the ladies for suggesting someone write a letter rather than text someone. No practical difference, but for some reason they love that shit.
