Guys, sorry I haven't been putting in much input. I generally have only my breaks to look over the thread... so, not much time.

I knew we shouldn't have voted Meph yesterday... crap.

Um.. okay, so Witti it is. Yes, I am following - but not much else to do right now.

I will say however, that I am suspicious of Oblivion a little just because I know she is good at these games.
And DP - well, I'm still going after the fact that he was backing up BAA's lead in going against Animavore... but, maybe that is just his nature. Also, Virphen did bring up a good point in that - you'd think if neither Ani or DP were on scum - the scum would whack one of them during the night, so that during the day we'd think it was one or the other responsible. don't know if that makes sense, am in a rush.

Also, I'm a bit suspicious of Timinane. I think either him or Magicziggy might be scum.

I can assure you that I am just an analyst... yada yada... I know that doesn't tell much.

Anyway,

I don't think I'll vote today...

And the ONLY thing that gets me about voting Witti is that he's always made quite the effort in previous games to state that scum are usually the quieter ones. Well, either he's making his rule true. Or he is innocent - because you'd think if he were scum he'd try to be not as quiet.

You wake up, grab a coffee, and dawdle on the internet for a few minutes before the day starts. You find some gruesome breaking news. A body has been found crucified in Hyde Park.

Day 6 will end at the usual time. Nobody has stated a preference for it being today or tomorrow, so I'll stick with today for now, but may extend it if people are busy over the weekend.

I have had an idea.

Everyone (apart from born-again-atheist and the explosive Virphen) who has been lynched or whacked is vanilla town. This has got to be too much of a coincidence, particularly in the light of J.A.P.'s post last night announcing Witti's status, with its 'guess what, folks' tone. I believe that he has designed a game with only vanilla town players, no special roles.

If that's the case, I would guess that there would only be a very small number of mafia: maybe two or three at the start of the game? As I was reflecting on this last night, I saw born-again's taunt to Higgs2 in the Spooknut gallery - 'I know who killed you!'. He's out so how could he know, if there were still several mafia left in the game?

If I'm right, looking for patterns is pointless. We need another strategy.

I've looked again at all the players who were whacked before Mantis and two of them, Virphen and Higgs2, had expressed specific doubts about Ani and DP. I'm just off to check Mantis's posts from yesterday now.

a) some pre arranged strategy. Actually that post is a bit too close to actual game play as it puts exactly those thought processes in motion.
b) like you said only one scum left - unlikely.

I felt last night having my witti vote reinforced by uselesstwit was suspicious. I changed to uselesstwit.
Oblivion and ani quickly got on the witti bandwagon. They (one or both) either:
a) genuinely believed witti was scum
b) assumed that i would switch back to witti on their say so.

I'm suspicious of all of them now.

i voted for oblivion to test her but she brushed it off. i then voted for witti for the lynch bloc. remember what i said about avoiding fractured voting?

If you did design a game with only a very few mafia, you'd ensure that you had strong players in the mafia roles and she is obviously one of those. I have noticed that she's logged on in the middle of her night though and that caused me to think she was wrestling to work it all out.

I'm interested in others' thoughts. If you had a game with only vanilla town and twenty players in total, how many mafia roles would you assign?
