Spooks Game Scum thread

Post by Don't Panic » Mon May 17, 2010 4:59 pm

Instead of trying to use PMs or an offsite writeboard I've set up this area as a private scum forum.

Only the 4 of us can see it and at the end of the game it'll be moved into the mafia games forum.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Brilliant.

By the way, I want to knock off witticism.

Skinny puppy looks like he's about to go, this way both of those damn lol-whatever images will stop appearing.

Barring a better target presents itself in the meantime that is not a bad idea, Witti is very good at these games, as is Higgs.

We have to wait until after the day round to submit our hit for tonight.

Also,

oblivion's relationship with blip is OH EXPLOITABLE!

Which I may have been assisting with my commentary. :hehe:

If we eliminate blip, we put oblivion under suspicion which means we can then use him to spread suspicion by having him defend people we want out.

OR, alternatively, he can then argue that it's an obvious ploy because he and blip were too suspicious of each other, and the mafia took the chance to make him suspicious.
Which will cement his immunity for at least a day.
And then we can accuse people trying to vote him out as the mafia trying to cover their tracks.

I'm planning to give people grief for n00b/scum tells during this game, mostly as an education exercise for the betterment of future games. Blip made me laugh when she reacted to my vote with another tell.

Anyway, right now I plan to keep to that plan.

We should try not to vault off each other in the game thread. When one of us goes down we need to be very careful not to have implicated other scum.

Very true, we need to try and limit our interactions with each other in the game thread so that the crawlers won't find links after a few days.

I wonder what all the roles are, to be honest.

Do we have any snipers/seers/serial killers in the game? Or is it just us and them?

Looks to be us and them, we don't even have a godfather.

I think JA has probably given us a fairly simple vanilla game.

I'd expect there to be a vig, a doc, and a seer. There might be a serial killer or traitor, since 4 scum out of 20 players is a little light on scum, especially for JA's usual style of game. We are a vanilla scum team without a don or a prostitute, so I expect the town side to be pretty straightforward as well.

also, as an FYI

I helped teach higgs2 to play mafia. She has a tendency to follow me if she thinks I'm town. She'll eventually get suspicious of me in this game because she is pretty good at spotting scum, but we might be able to use that tendency in our favor for a day or 2.

You gonna teach us how to play too?

I'll try. But, I'm a much better town player than scum.

You guys know these players better than I do. Keep an eye out today for people who look like they might be specials.

The usual special tells are being quiet and/or a little aggressive (more than usual). It's hard to differentiate special tells from scum tells, which sometimes gets a special vig killed.

I'm worried that Feck and Ani aren't both gunning for me, it's a characteristic of their play here. If I get killed overnight there is a very good chance of one of them being a vigilante.

I've killed Ani in every game so far that I've been scum, unless someone else gets there first. Leaving him alive while I am should make him think I'm town.

Feck will just kill me and say nothing, if it's him.

Day 2 will reveal all. :levi:

If Higgs is good a picking out scum, let's see who she picks on days 2 and 3. If she picks people accusing any of us, she's getting far too close to the mark for comfort.
