CAN WE GET PAST THIS SHIT ALREADY?
Oh bawww Hitler started the Holocaust. Honestly, it was over 60 years ago. Pretty much all survivors are dead (the ones who are alive are pretty healthy but dammit THEY'LL DROP DEAD ANYTIME SOON). For goodness sake, my ancestors, having a Jewish heritage, probably went through this shit. I'm the one who should be taking this personally. I'm not.
It happened.
It's over.
We're pretty much over it.
It's all in the past.
It's one thing to learn from mistakes, it's another to keep those mistakes around.
Frankly, Adolf Hitler was a good leader, politically he was. Was he morally a good leader? Fuck no. It was a good question to ask, and many people are probably anxious to answer this.
We got over 9/11 for the most part, which was nearly 10 years ago. Why can't we get over the fucking Holocaust? We learned from the mistake, we'll never do it again, we'll never forget it. But this does not mean we should keep it around as if it happened a year ago. I'm sorry for your losses in the Holocaust, I'm sorry I can't empathize correctly, but you really need to get over this, as hard as it is (and I know it's very, very, very, very, very, very, very, etc. hard). Let it go, and we can move onto a better society.
