That's what I get for having a life outside of the internet.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Hey Oblivion,
Please take a close look at people who are using the peanut gallery to game play.
Wait! That might come back and bite me.
I'm sure you PM anyone who crosses the line accidentally or otherwise.
And I'm sure there is some sort of mafia game karma where people who knowingly cross the line get their just rewards.
On the mafiascum wiki it suggests assassins/vigilantes who lack sufficient evidence to make a strategic "kill" should consider a gratuitous "hit" on disruptive game trouble-makers.

If I catch someone making an edit of game-affecting nature I will godkill them.

I'm serious.

Get used to playing without edits. If you play mafia on one of the serious sites it will get you godkilled no matter how minor and inconsequential the edit.

I'll see what I can do to prevent this in the future. Sifaka has posted gameplay posts right after nightfall both game days so far. It might work to just lock the game threads until it's time for the new day to start.

I think the no PM and no editing rules have the useful and interesting effect that they enable the Moderator and other players to identify a post which contains information or wording that could only have been possible by cheating.
Eg. Player X and player Y both claiming and agreeing upon a fact which only one of them officially knew.

There are millions of ways they could have passed a note under the table. And a player could make a deliberate typo or conspicuous mistake as a sleight of hand ploy which would allow them them an excuse to edit that post later - at which time they could edit something else in the post. The edit trail would simply show "edited 1 time".

It's not just about the inconvenience of reading posts more than once in case the person didnt get it right the first time or making sure the game isnt made redundant by someone who has worked out a failsafe way to cheat via PM. You might think about cheating and communicating by PM or in real life but it would not do you any good because you couldnt then explain your motives/actions in the game thread.

I think it is a way to show players that if you cheat you will get caught because everything you do in the game is on the record. (Unlike some football players salary caps)

Could someone please tell me what a "fos of someone" is.
