I'll go with the flow. Whatever suits the majority of players is fine by me.

Ok...Day 2 will end at 10 PM GMT Tuesday. I'll post this in the game thread, too.

Hi Oblivion,
I am going to interpret the "paraphrase" clause in the rules about PM's the way a lawyer would.
In otherwords, a legal loophole so big you could drive a truck through it.
I'm sure you choose your words carefully and no doubt this rule was very well thought out before the game commenced.
I dont imagine there will be any attempt to clarify the rule mid-game, in a way which would further restrict the ability to "paraphrase".

I don't see anything wrong with what you did. Sure, it's not really a PM--there's nothing P about it--so I'm not sure if the loophole even applied to it.

Also, I haven't edited a single post since. I'm so proud of myself. It's really hard to break the habit.

Hi Mephisopheles,
I'm just saying the game might depend on our being able to convey as much detail as possible from Oblivions game role PM's into the game thread.

Ok, I think I see what you're asking about, and paraphrasing your role PM would not be against the rules. The purpose of the rule is to keep the game from devolving into a "compare PMs" game, or worse, a game about photoshop skills.

Say my role was Monorail Cat. I could post "Hey, I'm Monorail Cat, and I can switch two players every night. On night 1 I switched Joe-Bob with Bob-Joe." I could also hint around about being the game's bus driver. And, I could lie about any of the above if I were not the bus driver.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Just because we can't PM doesn't mean there isn't a work-around if anyone else can figure it out.

Should be obvious to sci-fi fans.

Talk in klingon? :ele:

Hab Sosli Quch
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.
