Thinking out loud here...

If a fake protective kitteh came out, then real protective kitteh would know, but couldn't prove it, as it's one player's word against another.

If a real protective kitteh came out and announced themselves, the bad guys would target them and there may be a way to override protection, like with the soft hit/hard hit thing at RatSkep. We just don't know the powers of the bad guys. PLus a fake protective kitteh may try to muddy the waters.

If real protective kitty came out and announced their powers but announced that they were protecting themselves, they may be able put off the bad guys long enough to form a group of trusted players if the genuine cop kitteh contacts them. If more than one cop kitteh makes contact, then someone's a bad guy. (But without PM's how can quiet contact be made ?) In previous games, the bodyguard left themselves unprotected at times but bluffed that they were protected. A wasted hit is too much to risk for the bad guys, so they usually leave them alone. But this may not be the case this time. I'd suggest that if the protective kitteh comes out, that they play the shell game with protection so the bad guys don't know when to strike and end up leaving them alone. But again, a "hard hit" option may bring that all undone and a critical player lost.

Fuck it. :lay:

A question - What's to stop people PM'ing and how can the mods enforce it anyhow ? :what: Are the bad guys PM'ing to coordinate their strategies ? If there is literally no PMing going on, there can't be a team of bad guys but a few individuals. But the opening post of the game refers to basement cat and his minions, inferring there is a team and for a team to work, they have to be communicating.

:banghead:

Nearly lunchtime here. I'll go away and think about it. There's got to be a way around this while keeping within the rules.

So ?

Notice that there's no "edited X times" underneath my post ? I didn't go back and edit it well after. I just had an extra thought and added it into the post straight away. If you edit within a minute or so, it doesn't show up as an edit. I gave the courtesy of writing "edit : ......" so that anyone on-line would notice, but if I was being devious, I could have just left that out. Again, I'm being honest in my game play and writing "edit : ....." is part of that. I'm not hiding anything.

Or, as a less tolerant person might phrase it, :pawiz:

That's the thing that worries me; the cop would have to come out as well. But then again, if the protective kitteh came out, maybe if the cop came out the same day the kitteh could protect the cop for a night or two before sacrificing themselves? Long enough for the cop to uproot a scum or two? Nah, nm, that sounds too risky.

And for the record, I think there's something wrong with me. I didn't notice that I had automatically been typing "kitteh" without thinking about it until I posted that. I'm going insane.

Yep, at that point wouldn't it be a judgement on the innocents part to see whose posts sound the most convincing/genuine.

Or it could go the other way. The cop kitteh could come out, but it may not be the real one.

I wonder if in this game, as in the Dune game - there are 2 lover kittehs that are able to communicate with each other? Last time around, I recall them looking pretty guilty up until the end - even though they weren't.

Oblivion, you make a tough game for us. Different. But still good. :td:

And what makes you say that ?

Since realising the error of my suspicions about Virphen yesterday, I've done nothing to accuse anyone, not voted for anyone and if anything, have tried to flesh out what may have happened overnight. I've also spent some time trying to work out how the good guys with investigative powers can safely disseminate their information without being targeted. Now, if you think that makes me suspicious, go ahead and vote for me. Do it. If you're trying to whip up hysteria to lynch me, you're either making the same mistake I did yesterday, or your have ulterior motives.

Anyone that knows me knows that I play a terrible bad guy - it's just not in me and I overplayed the role last Mafia game I was in. However, when I'm innocent, I'm 100% honest and forthright in my writing and that's what I've been doing the whole game here. I genuinely thought I saw a voting bloc emerge yesterday and voiced my misguided suspicions. When I realised my error, I withdrew my vote, suggested that Virphen be substituted in lieu of the missing player if he was innocent and sent him an apologetic e-mail afterwards (we have each other's e-mail address).

Vote for me if you feel you must if you have a genuine concern.
I voted for you.

You posted this in the gallery:

Probably not, given the game is still going  .
Could it be that you were set up ? You innocently suggest a course of action and the bad guy team decides between them to follow your lead to make you look like the ringleader of a group ? Or was it just coincidental that a few players followed your lead - twice ? Maybe I need to dial back my level of suspicion in this game, especially that it's only day one and we have virtually zero to go on. Anyhow, sorry again Virphen. Withdrawing my vote for you wasn't enough to save you and I feel bad that my earlier suspicions planted the seeds of doubt. I'll be looking at who voted for you closely.

:hugs:

When does the game thread open ?

You are still trying to mislead everyone into thinking there is some voting block.. yesterday that it was a block trying to get virphen made mayor and now that it was a block trying to set him up. You withdrew your vote for him when it was blindingly obvious that he was being lynched. You are extremely suspicious. I voted for your lynching yesterday but the vote was not counted in the final tally, for some reason.

Fletch: Uh. Well, I've sinned. I didn't take any Polaroids or anything. But, yeah, I've sinned.
Jimmy Lee Farnsworth: The Lord forgives ya!
Fletch: Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you. Amen. What? Other sins? Uh, I parked in a handicap spot on my way up here. Actually, on a handicap person. I told him I'd be back in five minutes, so that's not such a big deal.

Redial,

I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything at this stage. I'm thinking out loud and putting forward some possibilities for consideration. If you can't see that, particularly in my most recent few posts, and still insist on voting for me, I would be struggling to explain your motivations in terms of being an innocent.

I'm still withholding my vote for the moment. When is end of round ?

I’ve also been honest and very forward about why I do what I do.

I can only vote where I see possible guilt, I could hide like some are doing, but that’s not my nature.

I am an in’sent kitteh, that will be shown to be true when truth will out.

I’m now seriously wondering why RappingAgnostic would say this:
Hey now! I saw my name mentioned. Sorry, I'm just really lazy.
http://rationalia.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... 00#p442435

I hope we’re not keeping you awake? :snooze:

Then he says this:
I'm unsure about what to do. Durro did seem suspicious, very eager to throw accusations around before.

I shall vote....Idk.

Nothing yet.

NO...wait. vote Durro.
http://rationalia.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... 00#p442470

First you’re too lazy to follow the game, then you’re unsure, then you don’t know, then you have nothing yet, then you do know, but might not know... then... what’s next in your bag of uncertainty????

You’re being far too inconsistent my friend. That is very suspicious behaviour in this kitteh’s book. :fp:

unvote owtth
vote RappingAgnostic
Fine, if that's how you feel, then so be it. A kitteh can't be lazy around these parts. I'm still not sure about Durro, I said I might change my vote at a later time. But what about you? Why are you so quick to instigate stuff and to throw around accusations? What do you have to gain?

Truth be told, I haven't been on Ratz a lot lately. But it seems like that is a crime in your eyes. I will have to watch this more closely.

And redial, are you LYING or simply mistaken when you claimed that I tried to form a voting bloc to elect Virphen mayor ?

If you go back through the thread, I wrote
Twinkie, Virphen and Animavore have voted for Virphen for mayor for no reason that I can see. Is this some sort of alliance ? Just how advantageous is it to have a Mayor role in this game ?
I was QUESTIONING IT !!! I wasn't leading anything with the mayoral vote. You may have a vague recollection that I was initially very suspicious of Virphen yesterday ???

My first mayoral vote was
I vote for Witticism for mayor
I subsequently changed my vote to
Unvote Witticism
Vote Redial for Mayor
So, my vote seems to have been wasted and in fact, possibly given to the wrong person in the wrong role. My apologies to everyone if I helped vote in a bad guy as Mayor.

Awww crap. I can't edit my posts, right ?

I meant to address my last few posts to twinkie, not redial. Twinkie quoted an exchange between redial and I, and I looked at the quoted text when i was replying.

Sorry redial, I take back what i said about voting for the wrong person.

Twinkie however...

That brings up something that struck me as an undefinable oddity over the past few pages until I reread them a few times. Does anyone think there might be more depth to Witticism's last post than what meets the eye? Looks like a secret vigilante message to me. I hope he kills the right person this time.

This is addressed to me?

I never claimed such. Again you attempt to mislead. Unfortunately for you, everyone can go read every one of your posts here and in the gallery, and read mine. And make up their own minds.
