Hmmmmm...I'm probably going to end up voting for either Skinny, RA, or owtth. For now, I think owtth is a good back-up because it doesn't look like his/her position will change much today, but just because that's my default vote doesn't mean that I won't change it back to Skinny or RA if I feel so inclined. I don't consider either of you innocent...think of this as a temporary reprieve until I decide which of you is more guilty.

Unvote whoever.
Vote owtth

Hi Mantisdreamz,

I too, wonder if Cookiejon was unable to or chose not to exercise his option to switch 2 players. Maybe he misinterpreted the consequences of his ability. His “night action” of wanting to switch two players might have meant that he inadvertently triggered an “order of play” chain of consequences involving the actions of other roles/night events. The sulfur clue hints that Ghatanothoa was killed by Basement Katz. The discussion about one player wanting out of the game cannot be discounted as an explanation for one player being found acting out one final fishnet fantasy before they suicide. (I dont think it has been ruled a homo cide yet.) An "exit" strategy?

In the RDF Mafia game I was in, there was a role where one innocent (vanilla) player - myself, was able to use a bullet to take out someone "overnight".
I misinterpreted the PM description of the role and thought that along with new clues each round, Durro would also be giving me a new bullet.
After I "shot my load prematurely" (nice Durro! thanks!) I discovered that it was a one-off. A single shot vigilante/assassin.

Lets hope the assassin/vigilante has more ammo. The certain identification of 4 non-mafia players makes it a bit easier to spot the difference between those who are lyin’ and those who are Lion. (heh) At least we now have one certain innocent vanilla town cat who we can trust to tell the truth – Ghatanothoa – miraculously resurrected by the power of faith in Ceiling Kat.

If you guys want to vote off an innocent, then vote for me. At least I have no special powers, so you won't be getting rid of one of the crucial good guys, so if it has to be any innocent, then I'm as good a choice as any.

But I'd rather people accept that I made an error in judgement yesterday and jumped at shadows when nothing was really there. Kittehs' do that, don't they ?

I haven't voted for anyone, even when my own vote would stop me from getting lynched at this stage. I'll let people think about it for a while and hopefully see my sincerity.

As for me, I'm trying to get time between patients to read back through the thread, see voting trends and identify (potentially) suspicious behaviour.

And ceiling cat, please save me ! I have sinned but wish to be forgiven.

I willing to give you the benefit of the doubt today Durro. Still unsure about you though. The puppy however appears to be jumping on every bandwagon going. Lots of stirring and misdirection going on there methinks

I invite any player with investigative powers to check me out.

Hopefully it won't involve a trip to the vet and being neutered.

Me claiming my innocence has no weight at all. But independent verification would hopefuly assuage peoples' doubt, unles there's a player that is guilty but shows up as innocent. But that's not me.

Hi Lion IRC,

What I was thinking was maybe CookieJon suspected that someone was a guilty party - like Ashton Black, and then targeted him so that Ashton Black's potential kill would be switched to another target. But since Ashton turned out to be innocent, than by his targeting him he ended up killing him and himself. You know, I think what I'm saying is nonsense. I think CookieJon is a pretty smart guy and also wouldn't have interpreted his role wrong. He probably just didn't get a chance to use his power. And the killings we saw were probably the result of what some people mentioned - I think Durro said, possibly 2 guilty groups and then a viggy. Or.... a viggy, a killer working on his own team and a group of mafia... or something like that.

I am swaying towards Durro being innocent though. I know in quite a few of the mafia games, I have made the mistake of using my gut instinct on what seems to be innocence though. So, it's a bit hard to tell.

Is there some sort of PI in this game that is receiving clues? Of course, if there is - than you don't want to come out and say it, and of course become a target yourself.

Good point Mantis.

If there is a PI or Cop type kitteh, and we're not allowed to PM, then how the heck do they share the information without being targetted by the bad guys ?

That's it. I mean, if there is a PI is there any way to insinuate your findings? Probably not. Everyone who votes someone has the possibility of having some real info. OR there may not even be a PI! :ask:

And what makes you say that ?

Since realising the error of my suspicions about Virphen yesterday, I've done nothing to accuse anyone, not voted for anyone and if anything, have tried to flesh out what may have happened overnight. I've also spent some time trying to work out how the good guys with investigative powers can safely disseminate their information without being targeted. Now, if you think that makes me suspicious, go ahead and vote for me. Do it. If you're trying to whip up hysteria to lynch me, you're either making the same mistake I did yesterday, or your have ulterior motives.

Anyone that knows me knows that I play a terrible bad guy - it's just not in me and I overplayed the role last Mafia game I was in. However, when I'm innocent, I'm 100% honest and forthright in my writing and that's what I've been doing the whole game here. I genuinely thought I saw a voting bloc emerge yesterday and voiced my misguided suspicions. When I realised my error, I withdrew my vote, suggested that Virphen be substituted in lieu of the missing player if he was innocent and sent him an apologetic e-mail afterwards (we have each other's e-mail address).

Vote for me if you feel you must if you have a genuine concern.

I guess the only way is if there's a protective Kitteh who can protected both themselves and the player with investigatory powers. If the protective kitteh can do both, then well and good. If the protection only extends to one player, then the bad guys have a 50/50 chance of hitting the unprotected player. If there's more than one bad guy at work, then we're probably fucked. And without knowing what the roles are, we can't even speculate accurately what they may be. I'd hate for the cop kitteh to come out and reveal themselves and then find out there's no protective kitteh.

So, how the heck can we work out what roles there are and how to share vital info without trusting the wrong person, without using PMs and without attracting unwanted bad guy attention ?

Edit : And how do we stop a bad guy coming out and claiming they're the protective player to flush out the cop/investigatory players ?

In the Dune game that oblivion hosted there was a swordsmaster on the innocent team. Able to take out one bad guy per night. Perhaps one of these exists... Good Ninja Kitteh, or something. So that might make it as though there aren't so many bad guys. For example, maybe the Sword Kitteh made a mistake last night.

As for whether some sort of investigative power exists... there has to be. Either cop or PI.. That person will be on their own, though. And perhaps will just have to be very convincing in their lynch votes. If that's possible.
