serial killer is usually a last man standing win condition
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

I've never seen an SK that wins with scum. Is that seriously how it works here?
I dunno know how it works here. Im my experience vig wins with town, SK wins with scum. But since SK is usually an indie it could go either way I suppose.
Vig is town. sk is usually a last man standing indie

Isn't that the toughest role, then? Because it seems to me that the game would end if he killed all the mafia off first, right? You'd need to be sure that you made it down to the last two with certainty that the other person was mafia...

I don't think it is meant to be a winning role, just throws some random carnage into the mix.
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

yeah, I've never seen one of them win. And it might not be that, but that's the most common explanation for 3 kills.

I’m loath to jump the gun after the fiasco with lynching our beloved Virphen, but I find that those that fear posting are those that have something to hide.

For now, unless we get something concrete to work with, I’ll go with owtth.

Check his posting history people, except for the initial sign-up, he’s been suspiciously absent. :ask:

There is still time yet before the end of the day, if he can post here in his defense, I’ll reconsider my vote, if he remains absent, then he’ll leave me no alternative.

Vote owtth

Well, I'm a little gun shy after yesterday's debacle. I obviously jumped at shadows, exhibiting more of a level of paranoia rather than healthy skepticism or reasoning. I overreached with Virphen and by the time I reconsidered, withdrew my vote and pushed to have him substitute in for the missing player, it was too late. Again, I apologise Virphen - you just can't seem to get past day 1 in mafia and I've been the cause of that twice in a row.

:strap:

Now, I'm trying to get my head around both the lolcat and religious themes of this game. 3 deaths occured last night, with one leaving sulphur, an obvious reference to basement cat. There can't be 3 teams of bad kittehs, surely, so there must be separate kittehs with separate missions, but perhaps a loose alliance or loyalties towards each other, presumably with basement kitteh at the top of the pecking order. Or maybe there was a vigilante kitteh which acted solo last night and there are two lots of bad kittehs ? Or maybe a vigilante, a serial killer and a bad team of evil demonic kittehs.

I really don't know what other roles there may be, but presumably following other mafia game formats there must be an investigative role, a blocking role and perhaps a vigilante role. Maybe one kitteh is exorcism kitteh who can expel demonic kittehs - if so, start exorcising. Presumably, an exorcism on an innocent kitteh won't harm them. And if there's a basement kitteh, there must be a ceiling kitteh. I'm an agnostic Kitteh who doesn't believe in ceiling kitteh apparently, but at this point, I'm prepared to convert out of self preservation. I wonder if there is anything to be gained by praying to Ceiling Cat for protection against the dark forces ? If so, please join me in a prayer to ceiling cat...

Ooh ceiling cat, ooh you are so big...so absolutely huge...we're all really impressed down here I can tell you...

Nope, wrong tone to take.

Please ceiling cat, protect us from the evil ones. Amen.

:FIO:

I won't be voting until we have more to go on.

Hey now! I saw my name mentioned. Sorry, I'm just really lazy.
But you know me, I'm lovable. Why would I be scum? Truth be told, I'm sort of confused. Too many deaths, it's scary.

I don't know who to cast my lynch vote for....
Hmmm.
I see many wanna lynch owtth. But hey, maybe he just has been absent from the internet like me?
I don't know, I don't wanna lynch another innocent kitty like we did to Virphen.

As a staff note, rather than a player one, Owtth is prone to absences, often for days.

A silent kitty is still a suspicious kitty though.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Dammit. I see what you're saying. But which of them is it? Unvote owtth.

I can't decide which to vote for now...owtth is clearly suss, but now we have RA and Skinny voting in block. I didn't think my suggestion would be that popular...

For now, I'm Skinny Puppy.

My best guess is that vanilla means they don't have kinky fetishes. Which I guess translates to no powers?
