[don't read anything into this question - I am not of the opinion that homosexuality is a choice - it doesn't feel like a choice to me, since I am not homosexual and I have a hard time imagining how I could feel about men the way I feel about women - but that's all beside the point - I am curious if this has been proven. The little research I have found is not conclusive, and has not shown that there is a genetic or heritable trait of homosexuality - I was wondering if I was missing something]

I didn't ask if it was biological. I asked if it was genetic.born-again-atheist wrote:What else could it be but biological?

If it ian't biological, it's not genetic. Any biological component of the human body is related to their genetics.Coito ergo sum wrote:I didn't ask if it was biological. I asked if it was genetic.born-again-atheist wrote:What else could it be but biological?

Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

The question is whether you think homosexuality is genetic and if so, whether you are aware of any proof of that. If you equate biological with genetic, that's up to you, but it doesn't answer the question. You can answer it, or not. That's up to you.

I typically think of a homosexual as a person that is sexually attracted to their own gender. You can play with dicks all you want, but until you derive sexual pleasure from it, you just like lollipops.Ghatanothoa wrote:klr wrote: What counts as "homosexuality" and what doesn't.

I already have, your inability to comprehend an answer doesn't make it any less there.
Here, with spelling mistakes and all:
If it ian't biological, it's not genetic.

If it ain't biological, it's not genetic doesn't answer the question. Logically, all you've stated is biology is a precondition for something being genetic. While biology may be a precondition for being genetic, that does not mean that everything biological is genetic. Your inability to comprehend basic logic doesn't mean you've answered the question. You've avoided it.
Is homosexuality genetic? If you have an answer yes or no, state it explicitly and give your reasons/proof. If you don't, just say you're not sure.
Re: Has it been proven that homosexuality is genetic?
I have answered it and don't feel inclined to hold your hand as you cross the street. Also, before you start demanding evidence provide some of your own.

When I make an assertion, I will advance my reasons/proof.born-again-atheist wrote:I have answered it and don't feel inclined to hold your hand as you cross the street. Also, before you start demanding evidence provide some of your own.
Perhaps your limited understanding of the English language is holding you back here.
All you've said was, "if it ain't biological, it's not genetic." That assertion is not an answer to the question, "has it been proven that homosexuality is genetic?" Maybe they don't teach logic in college anymore, and I know the education system has failed over the last 20 years, so your deficiency is probably not your own fault.
Re: Has it been proven that homosexuality is genetic?
Good thing I don't go to college, look what it shat out.
