I just received a nice letter from Gordon Brown

How nice of him to think of me! I just received a letter from that nice Mr Brown. In it he tells me that the election is not all about him and his fellow politicians but actually about me and my family. How nice!

He also promises to mend the economy, make sure that any cancer tests I might have are done within a week, ensure there are fair rules in place, though it isn't quite clear about what - but its a nice idea I am sure you will agree.

He finishes the letter off by telling me that this election is my choice! ..and here I was thinking it was everybody's! Still I will have to give some careful thought to who I want to govern if it is all up to me!

Oh - and there is a P.S. In it he says that his promises are 'substantial' and that they 'speak' to the values of Britain's mainstream majority - ordinary families like the one he grew up in, he says.

Nu-Labour have had 13 years to do all this.

And as a working family man he's done fuck all for me. My wife worked it out a few months ago. If I lost my job and we split up we'd be much better off financially.
When she went to university she was told we'd get help for child care costs. ..... Untill they found out we were married and I was working.
We put up with it to start with, but then she had a 2 week placement course. We run up a £750 child care bill in 2 weeks. When we enquired about help to pay for this we were told to fuck off. If I was unemployed or she was single this would've been payed for by the state.

She got a job on minimum wage (£5.25ph) but child care was £7.50ph. So much for encouraging mums back into work.

To be fair, Nu-Labour introduced the minimum wage (against the wishes of big business, who said it would bankrupt them), so you can thank Labour that businesses are forced to pay her a certain rate.
