Rand? Ew.
LOL - but you apparently share her views on ethical philosophy - the virtue of selfishness, morality governed by self-interest, and objectivism.
Not at all- my views on morality are far more complex than Rand's immature fist-pumping.

I found the language of it really hard - I strongly associate morals with dictates and ethics with reasoning, the former set and the latter, like science, more fluid in response to new information and debate. It made some of the answers 'feel' wrong because I wouldn't want it applied to moral codes but believe it should be applied to ethical decisions.
"Whatever it is, it spits and it goes 'WAAARGHHHHHHHH' - that's probably enough to suggest you shouldn't argue with it." Mousy.

Maybe it would be more productive to discuss questions and answers.

Ayn Rand in 3? AYN RAND ?????? :nono:
Apparently we have a lot of closet objectivists here....

Maybe it's because the basics of her philosophy are not particularly crazy:

Rand's metaphysics consist of the proposition that there exists an objective reality. Reality exists and it exists irrespective of one person's point of view or another. Reality is reality, and perception of reality does not change reality.

Her epistemology is based on reason and rationalism. We are supposed to be able to know things through the use of reason and rational thought.

Her ethics is focused primarily on self-interest, meaning that she acknowledges human nature as basically consisting of what would be in the self interest of the individual.

Really, the only big problem that most people on this board should have with her philosophy is her view on politics, which is pro-capitalism. For some reason, people here do not like capitalism.
