It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

I think that language has a lot to do with interfering in our relationship to direct experience. A simple thing like metaphor will allows you to go to a place and say 'this is like that'. Well, this isn't like that. This is like this.

Vampire Circus
and
A Compny of Wolves.
Now, bearing in mind I was a kid when I watched these, so I don't know how they stand up now.
More recently, the "Saw" movies
and

Cube would be a perfect horror/sci-fi movie if it wasn't for the really bad acting.Deep Sea Isopod wrote:Vampire Circus

With all the remakes being made, I'd like to see that one with better actors.

I don't find horror movies scary really.
I love Alien, Aliens and The Thing although I don't find any of the scary at all.

If you can't suspend your disbelief you have to go because they're fun to watch.Elessarina wrote:I don't find horror movies scary really.

That's the case with me in recent years. As a kid, I was scared shitless... but now, most horror movies/novels don't strike a chord.Elessarina wrote:I don't find horror movies scary really.

There are a few that do. I was pretty uneasy while reading Pet Sematary, and Last House on the Left (the original) has me feeling dirty by the end.

Re: Best horror movie?
I just remembered. I started serious target practice after seeing "The Last Man On Earth", with Vincent Price.

Re: Best horror movie?
I'll only like a horror if it's hilarious (intentionally or unintentionally), has a good story (like Carrie, these are the rarest of horrors) or are awesome (like Alien(s)).
If it's just slasher nonsense or a gore fest I generally won't like it.
Only film that made me jump in my adult life was The Grudge but then I'd break me hole laughing after.
When I was a child though horror movies made me run off crying.
