Heard about this on NPR today.

A group of muslim women protesting the gender segregation in mosques as being separate and unequal, entered the mens chamber of a mosque, and refused to leave until they were removed by police. The nps article is a discussion between one of the women in the protest, and another woman defending the segragation.
Hearing her explain that the one way glass and TVs showing the imam speak, not to mention that they really do get to pray with the men, as long as they're in the back of the room really sounded sad to me. While I think she was genuine that she felt more comfortable with the separation, I would suspect that the fact that she sees those conditions as positive as a sign of the harm islam has done to her self esteem. I admire the courage of the women who did this, and hope more follows.
