You may not believe it but I've been playing the old C&C Tiberian Sun this last week. EA went and released all the old C&C classics as free downloads, so I thought what the hell and grabbed myself a copy.

C&C 4 will not have local server support, it will be Internet servers only. Bad move imho.

Played through Heavy Rain twice now. In some ways it was like playing another game. Putting it aside for a while, because I'll be picking up FF13 soon. I've just discovered that the English-speaking version (UK release next week) forces you to play with English voice acting only. Poor show. Might be worth getting the import instead if you do prefer 日本語.

I put all my money down on The Last Gaurdian, and ordered some DVDs. But I wanted to get something to play, having beaten Bioshock twice. So I picked up The Orange Box for cheap. Halo 2 is pretty cool. Visuals are wonderful. Only thing is, the game is a little glitchy. My character tends to get hung up in doorways, for instance, and it's a real bugger if I happen to be getting shot at. I also have trouble with ladders. Climbing up a ladder isn't a problem. It's getting off of it once I've reached the top that vexes me Right now I'm playing through this bit where I'm on a hovercraft type vehicle. It's going on forever and honestly I'd rather be done with it right about now. The hovercraft is kinda spastic, too, in the way it handles.
Anyway, it's still a cool game. And I'm curious about Portal. I did try to play the other game (can't remember what it's called), but apparently it's an online multi-player thing

HL2 is in my top 5 games of all time, but it just isn't the same on the 360. It's not a perfect port, it can be glitchy, it was never meant to be played on a console, and the technology was completely new when it hit the PC. It came out on the 360 ages later. The HL2 that hit the PC was a revolutionary game. PC game of the decade if you ask a lot of people, including myself.

Essentially, they had to make a sequel to what many have described as the greatest PC game of all time. Amazingly, they made a game far better than the original. Now 360 users are getting a slightly aged game, that was never intended to appear on a games console, and not seeing what the big deal is.

This is what it says on the box Bri for 'recommended', though it is very configurable and you could turn down the detail quite a lot.

Invidia 8800 gt 512 megabytes or better (graphics card)
Ram - 3 gigs

I think you're right. That would be the cheaper way of doing it. I was thinking of building a faster machine with a new motherboard and processor, though this will have to wait due to lack of funds.

I'm desperately short of disc space too. My current hard drive is ancient and only 80 gig. - I'm thinking that an external HD would save a lot of bother.

I think you're right too. The problem is that things are getting a little cramped for space etc. inside my pc case.

That's why when I planned my PC I left enough room for a small array of discs.

Right now I have 5. (One Solid State for the "system", one 10K Velociraptor for games and a 3 Disc 2TB Array RAID)
