Australia - "Think of the Children" (again)

Post by Tortured_Genius » Thu Mar 04, 2010 9:20 am

Can anyone in Oz tell me what the hell is going on down there because, to quote the Daily Fail, it seems to be "PC Gone Mad":

Australia "Killing field" sparks protest

Are we talking knives in schools? Human sacrifce on the cricket pitch?

No - it's paintballing, an evil pastime which appears to be regarded as 1000 times worse than contact sports like, say, rugby.

I don't know what it's like in Australia, but when I was at school in the UK 30 odd years ago, Friday afternoons were spent running around with real rifles dressed in combat gear doing the whole military bit (OK, not all schools were like mine with a cadet force, but a fair few were). Paintballing FFS........... :Erasb:

the company Urban Assault runs outdoor war games using laser guns
The website shows pictures of adults and children dressed in camouflage firing laser weapons in the schools
:funny:

I must sympathize with part of this though, as it is not really appropriate to call a school yard a 'perfect killing' ground.

It's totally wrong. Don't they have some better place to rent perhaps with dirt and trees and hills???

There are many after school activities, so how in the world did this principal think this was appropriate? :dono:
