Let's see, which will be the first State to legislate that women must be confined in padded cells for the period of their pregnancy?

It's like the early stages of The Handmaids Tale.

It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

No need to be ashamed. Everyone on this forum knows that the American members are the exception. ;)

At least they let her go home and dropped the charges. She probably has grounds for a lawsuit, too.

The fact that they hauled her off to jail in Iowa is what makes this story unsurprising. The evangelism in the middle flyover states is not to be underestimated.
This whole thing sounds like an anecdote from The Handmaid's Tale. :nono:

"Flyover states" not heard that one before. I guess it's because all the normal people fly over them?

Flyover states are the ones in the middle, between the coasts.

Yep. The more progressive, sophisticated types tend to live in the northeast and the west coast. We fly back and forth, looking down at the vast farmlands in between, home to millions of pious huckleberry types.

Of course there are exceptions to the rule (I have to add this before FIO and Gawdzilla slap me around). Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, Austin, etc. are fairly progressive cities and nowhere near an ocean.

Indy's not too bad, although if you go further south in Indiana, it does get bad.

I have to admit that things like this do make me a bit ashamed to admit that I'm an American. No wonder the rest of the Western world laughs at us. :nono:
