When the site techs broke free

Not usually my thing.. but everyone is doing it and I just want to be popular.

It was just before dawn
One miserable morning in black 'Twenty Ten.
When the forum moderators
Were told to sit tight
When they asked that their site be relieved.
And the site techs gave thanks
As the other ranks held back
The plebian planks for a while.
And Dawkins' holy icon
Was preserved for the price
Of eighty-five thousand ordinary lives.

And kind old King Dawk
Sent the plebians a note
When he heard that their forum was gone.
It was, I recall,
In a form of control,
With quote mines and all.
And I found it one day
Amongst a coffin of old posts, hidden away.
And my eyes still grow damp to remember
His Majesty wrote it
With his own hypocritical pomp.

It was dark all around.
There was frost in the ground
When the site techs broke free.
And no one survived
From the Richard Dawkins Forum company.
They were all left behind,
Most of them blocked,
The rest of them deleted.
And that's how the RD.net techs
Took my forum from me.
