It's what happens to all religions: Formation of sects. So why should it not also happen to atheism?
IIDB (internet infidels discussion board) went down for similar reasons as RDF

This is the aftermath

You might like to add Herd of Cats as another forum that came out of RDF at the same time as TAF. I think it's defunct now, but for completeness... Some of the HoC people are here now, others went elsewhere.

A good schism starts the day better than a strong cup of coffee.

I think it is more an example of how the few eventually like to dominate the many, so the many sod off elsewhere.

I suspect a good bit of iconclasts are also strongly anti-establishment of any sort. :pir8:

It would be cool make it like a philogenetic tree and define some branches as "extinted"

We love to evolve, methinks :eddy:

When I complained about this and offered constructive suggestions I was told I was "lazy" and should resize my graphics.

I think the formation and break away of sects is just something indicative of all human organisation, it's unavoidable.

Generally I agree, but it didn't have to happen in this instance.

I'm not familiar with that Herd of Cats forum. Is it still online? Is it an offshoot of RDF or of TAF or of both?

I'm familiar with vBulletin add-ons that auto-resize pictures for rendering, but I don't know what might be available for phpBB.

Can't drink, can't smoke, can't eat moo cows, & hate running 3 miles a day to catch a boring carrot, and a plate of measly Muesli, so might as well be here?
