Hello all,

I've just heard about this site through the RDF controversy. I wasn't a member in the other forums; I just follow /r/atheism on reddit.com and Pharyngula. I read the ex-mod's recounting of the events and wanted to be a part of the much-hyped community.

A bit about myself, I'm currently a college student and active member of my school's secular society. I'm involved in a committee that is giving the Mythbusters an award for cultural humanism in April. It is awesome because I get to hang out with Adam and Jamie, and discuss atheism/humanism/skepticism with them.
