PS3 games?
It looks like I may be getting a used PS3 for cheap. Any recommendations for games? I've been kind of out of touch with gaming for a while, so have no idea what's out there. I do have Bioshock already. I figure I'll get Assassin's Creed. I was thinking about picking up the new Ratchet and Clank game, but I dunno. What else is there for like action/adventure kind of stuff?

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

Modern Warfare 2 is the only game to have right now.
Although Assassin's Creed 2 and Uncharted 2 are also good.

Action adventure...
The best action adventure game on the PS3 is surely Uncharted 2. But it's fast, exciting, and has fantastic set pieces. If you want something slower, and more of a mix between action and RPG, then I will second the Fallout 3 suggestion.
Oh, and I didn't bother to mention Modern Warfare 2, because it isn't a choice. If you've got a PS3 or 360, you should have MW2.

Wouldn't Metal Gear classify as an action adventure? If you've played the Metal Gear games on the Playstation and the Playstation 2, then you really ought to play the new one.
That aside, Final Fantasy XIII is coming out in March (fuck yeah).

I strongly advise Metal Gear Solid 4. VERY strongly.
I would also recommend Assassin's Creed 2 if cost/length is something that matters to you - in terms of gameplay for your buck, I don't think any game released in the past 6 months comes close, except possibly Dragon Age Origins. Maybe.
I have been told MAG is poor and to be avoided, and I would say similar things for Dante's Inferno unless you can pick it up cheaply. (<£24)

Re: PS3 games?
I second Fallout 3 (I spent over 120 hours on that game. seriously.) and also nominate Borderlands. There's something about this new breed of half fps/half adventure game that I love.
Bioshock 2 is a great FPS and the multiplayer is really well balanced.
If you're into racing games at all, get Burnout Paradise.
If you like action/strategy games, Fat Princess on the PSN store is a lot of fun, especially when you have a full 16-on-16 match with good players.
Oh, and Resident Evil 5 is nice just because it's so gorgeous.
