Who are the mods/admin on here? Anyone familiar? From what I see, it looks like Gawdzilla's one of them.

I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain

Re: mods/admin
There was a Goshzilla on RD as well as our Gawdzilla, if you got into RD after October 08 chances are you haven't seen much of our lovable lizard.klr wrote:There was a Gawdzilla on RD.net, you know ...Mac_Guffin wrote:Wait... Although you do know his fiancee, who is also an Admin here,
and the other admins are Pappa(site founder and our lovable leader), Charlou and Xamonas Chegwe and me(used to be dontpanic on RD),
The mods then are Ashton Black, Pluto2, Leo-rcc, JimC, Paco, Chinaski and FIO.
Most of us were RD regulars up to the great schism of 08, but after Dr Dawk called us petulant children we buggered off here.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

I think we've all reverted back to the red and green colors for our names now also. That should help!

Schism of 08? Where can I find out more about this?

Schism of 08 was the very first of the schims. RD killed feral Off Topic and a fight broke out resulting in TAF, later a lot of us left TAF and came here.

And there's a God Zilla somewhere amongst our lot... i tend to view it much as I view the different iterations of Gojira himself - the terrifying nuclear metaphor, the big-hearted (but still city stomping) 1960s version, the not-really-Godzilla-at-all US version, the post 1985 re-monsterfied version etc etc...

Edit: Oh, probably "Thinking Aloud Forum". I still don't get the feral OT thing.

Re: mods/admin
feral OT was the original off-topic forum, prior to the "if you wouldn't see it on the discovery channel, you can't talk about it here" rule. It was a fun relaxed playground, very similar to the pub here, topics about anything and everything.Mac_Guffin wrote:What do you mean by feral off-topic and TAF?Pluto2 wrote:Schism of 08 was the very first of the schims. I'm confused. On RDF, there was an OT forum where you could discuss meaningless bullshit... I was one of its main contributors. Are you telling me that when you left, they got rid of the OT forum temporarily.DP wrote:feral OT was the original off-topic forum, prior to the "if you wouldn't see it on the discovery channel, you can't talk about it here" rule. They changed what people were allowed to post there. For a while, it was even secluded from the other fora and people interested in posting there had to get an admin to give them access.Mac_Guffin wrote:I'm confused. I have another set of questions. What is the moderation like here? How is it similar/different to RDF?
Are slightly OT posts given a little more leeway or less leeway? Like say that you're discussing Nietzsche's philosophy, and something about his relationship with Wagner comes up, then that leads to a little discussion about Wagner's music. If it doesn't get too out of hand, are posts like that usually left alone?
