Announcement about RDF Part 2.

I now think that the RD avenue is a dead end. Josh is the future of RDF. Josh is the man that Richard has put in charge of his legacy. When RD finally achieves his deathbed non-conversion ( hopefully in a long, long time from now, I still love the guy), Josh is the man who will continue the foundation and guide his legacy. I honestly dont think I'm exaggerating in saying that Josh is probably the son Richard never had. All we can do now is make enough noise so that people know we aren't the liars.

That's the phase it's in now. It's not about saving the forum, it's not about informing Richard, it's about defending the slurs on our collective character and making sure that the information about what went down, and is still going down, is out there for all that look for it. It's about making sure that every time they delete a post, it appears somewhere else in cyberspace.

Me too! I think Mikes post might have been in response to my post which got deleted very quickly. I wasn't quite so subtle as hack.

Given the overall inept execution of the evil act I'd guess stupidity as the driver rather than malice.

Evil would be taking the forum offline, setting all the blocks etc in place, putting PM's to the mods, putting up a message to say "forum now closed" then bringing the forum back up and that would be it.

Pissing around with deleting threads and the like is just inept - they shouldn't have been able to post things you don't like in the first place. No evil overlord points for you.

As it is, I have no real idea of what Josh was trying to achieve or what his brief actually was, it being that much of a ballsup overall. A neat wrapping up? No. A surgical trimming? No.

I'd guess we'll only know if this was sanctioned by seeing how many arseholes Josh has by the end of the week (as in "Tearing a new one.........").

From his pronouncments like “Using a forum as a substitute for a real website is sloppy and lazy.” JT has absolutely no business working in the web design industry since he has no clue about his target audience. I write that as an IT professional with 30 years experience who has to deal with tossers like this every day. They think they know it all. They don't and when they screw up everyone else pays. (On the plus side I've made quite a good living clearing up after assorted wunderkind).

We really and truely need a statement from RD himself to find what was intended and who was responsible for what.

Until then, it's mostly speculation.

Forum posters who evidently have very little life outside the forum – extremely prolific “contributors” who have chosen names such as “Half_Cut”, “Fallible” and “Im_With_Stupid” for themselves – can barge out more occasional posters who do have lives, by insisting on very low standards in their clique. Other posters, rude, coarse individuals, the “voluntarily unemployed” are also free to unload streams of f-words for no good reason except that they feel it makes them look clever – and they will find themselves in majority company.

Just catching up here having read Peter's blog. I'm shocked beyond any ability I have to comprehend. It would be really interesting to get Richard's take on all of this. Does anyone have any clue if Richard is aware? Naturally if Josh has given him the broad sketch it isn't the truth.

What a fucking shame. The mods have set aside so much of their lives to keep things running while the mechanics of the forum fettered their efficiency.

I hardly know what to say except that I wish to express my gratitude to the former RDF staff for their labors with no recompense. Such a shocking thing that Timonen was being paid to do this. When pressed to the line he does something half-assed-full-blast. What a wanker.

We can but that would just get the reporter banned.

It's already been flagged by three different posters. Two more and it goes in the bin.

One more flagging of that post, and we'll see if the FP co-ordinator himself is immune to having a comment binned or not.

Consider this as a form of research.
