I took a screen shot of this brilliant topic, though:

You can still download and archive your posts and private messages, but the ability to enter new posts has been disabled. It's unfortunate that it had to come to this. We know that change can be difficult and sometimes frightening, but we are all very excited about the direction of the website and the future.

Anybody invited susu over. I'd hate to think we can't replicate some of the technical discussions over here.
Might I suggest an added section to the "Serious Stuff" section dealing directly with "Evolution". The "Science, Technology & Environment" can contain it, but part of my enjoyment of RD was knowledgeable people on evolutionary biology. My personal interest is in algorithms, but borrowing ideas from biology is very useful. That's also where more than a few IDers tended to go.
I think that is a good idea, and I'll raise it with the rest of the staff.
I'll give you my shipping address, and my mom, and I'll throw in a few ex-wives if I can get my hands on those posts. Oh, and you can have the kids and my collection of Dawkins books.life wrote:Sure thing. I will upload it asap. Would there be any possibility of hosting somewhere online - even through a file-sharing app or something? Or is it too big? Got most of the forum saved for offline viewing (almost done).
Anyone interested? Several gigs so far...
I'll see if I can include a fulltext search function.
My upload speed is not that fast...
The main thing I'd like mentioned is that Dawkins so avidly promoted having an atheist community and a place to promote reason and rational thought amongst the masses, yet his two techies showed neither of these qualities when they single handedly succeeded in tearing down that whole idea.Katherine wrote:I've notified New Humanist magazine about this news, and they want me to send them an e-mail with further details. Now it's time to take some swift, high-profile and decisive action against this monstrous injustice!
