A poll in need of a gentle nudge

Post by drl2 » Tue Feb 23, 2010 5:04 pm

A judge here in Delaware has ruled that prayer sessions before school board meetings are not unconstitutional because... er... school boards are sort of like legislative bodies... or something.

Article here.

There's also a poll, which so far seems to have been heavily visited by folks who don't seem too keen on the whole church-state separation concept. (The poll is on the main Delaware Online page, under the "Education" tab in the section on the left.)

Maybe you just tried to vote against the outcome they were hoping for? :)

Actually it seems to be gone entirely now. Somebody broke it.

Wow, 67% to 32% in favor of prayer. This poll needs more than a gentle nudge! :nono:

We had a prayer-policy battle in lodi a few months ago, but only involving the city council meetings, not the school board.

These trends are becoming annoying :nono:
"Another aspect of the particulateness of the gene is that is does not grow senile; it is no more likely to die when it is a million years old than when it is only a hundred. It leaps from body to body in it's own way and for its own ends, abandoning a succession of mortal bodies before they sink in senility and death" -Richard Dawkins' The Selfish Gene p.34
