This literally made me shake with anger. I don't know what to say. I really wish to inflict pain on the people responsible.

I wonder in what manner they are punished and how harsh.

Religion poisons everything... :nono:

Sickening. The worst part to me is that she tried to turn to the authorities for help, but they simply returned her back to the ownership of her abusers. It's mind-boggling to perceive of a culture that considers the shame of having a daughter who is *gasp* no longer a virgin is a worse shame than that of being a murderer.

Don't offend the Turks, they may not buy the latest war toy we want to sell them. :ddpan:
I bet there is exactly no British government "statement of disgust."

And a damn good thing too, if no morals means not having a sick urge to regulate the sexuality of others by violence...

The issue is not the regulation of violence, or that the girl was buried alive, it is that the world is content to let it happen. Entire nations will impose a trade embargo on nations for a change in Government, but when it comes to the suffering of its citizens, well that's none of their business is it? They dare not draw he entire wrath by condemning an act as it is. If the news were to report on this, the condemnation would be people 'twisting a religion' or 'backwards ideas', not that these people are acting as their religion says they can.
Official figures have indicated that more than 200 such killings take place each year, accounting for around half of all murders in Turkey.
And how many more before people admit that it is because of religion? How many more must suffer before the world finally admits that it is not 'just some' that they are not 'backwards' or 'fringe groups'?
"The fact is that far more crime and child abuse has been committed by zealots in the name of God, Jesus and Mohammed than has ever been committed in the name of Satan. Many people don't like that statement but few can argue with it."
