What. The. Hell?

Post by Twoflower » Wed Feb 03, 2010 11:57 pm

I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

What concerns me most about this appalling story is that they clearly have a target demographic in mind, i.e. little girls, who are already being sexualized much too young in today's world. This is just another cheap money-making wheeze that in the absence of being able to do anything positive about it should be regarded with the contempt/revulsion it deserves.

And then is heard no more. It is a tale

Signifying nothing. [

That child looks kind of scary too. Maybe it's the adults who need to watch out. :hehe:

It could also be used as beautiful propaganda by a clever islamist spin doctor, preferably using a female mouthpiece, to attack commercialised sexuality in the west...

(not without lots of hypocrisy, I know...)

But the whole concept of sexual freedom in modern western society has a soft underbelly, when commercial interests and pedophilic, powerful men form an unholy alliance...

It would be easy if simple cynicism were the answer, but it's more than that. Parents and feminists and consumers encourage it, they embrace it, the 'sexual liberty' of the west came with the pill and with condoms. Every step after that was just moving closer to the edge until we tumbled off it.
That's the problem with 'liberty', no matter which way you go if you aren't careful you simply plummet.
