The 'in your face' poor continuity. We know QT can do it right when he wants to so he must have been deliberately fucking with us big time with this one. The OTT caricatures, FFS he even managed to find a Ben Murphy look-alike! I loved it, but apparently for all the wrong reasons.
So it's a lot like Kelly's Heroes then ... :ddpan:
Very similar. It's as if QT was deliberately doing a pastiche of that type of war film.

Well I don't think it's meant to be a comedy per se, although there are comedic elements in it.
I don't know what Tarantino was trying for here, though. The film left me frustrated and dissatisfied. Maybe I'm expecting too much from him.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

I don't think this ranks with Tarantino's best but it had a few great set-pieces and a wonderful performance by Cristoph Waltz. Rod Taylor's Churchill cameo was unexpected and very well done as well. And I absolutely loved seeing Hitler laughing his head off while watching the lone German sniper picking off US troops by the hundred on screen - very surreal.
