Time Changer

Post by FedUpWithFaith » Sun Jan 10, 2010 7:31 pm

OK, Everybody,

I've just been watching one of the most unintentionally funny and bad movies ever called "Time Changer" on GMC (Cable's Gospel Music Channel) starring D. David Morin, Gavin MacLeod, Hal Linden, Jennifer O'Neill and Paul Rodriguez. It's a Christian-produced movie about a Bible Professor (who teaches "proper" science too) from 1890 who time travels to our future using a time machine developed by a fellow Bible professor using "science" he got from the Bible. His discoveries of the terrible morality and loss of faith in our society is unintentionally hilarious and badly acted and if I didn't know the movie was serious, i would have thought it was a parody of Christians.

It has repeated airings on Comcast. If you can find it you will have a blast. My whole family was laughing so hard in places we cried.

Sounds a riot. Does it have a scene where the Prof tries to set the time machine to 6001 years before the present and it just won't do it.....?

No, there's no use to it since they already know everything from the past worth knowing as the Bible is the infallible word of God. There are too speeches in the movie that are the funniest where the professor explains to students that true science cannot controadict the Bible. The Bible is a given and source of all true science. I'm gong to check out Youtube and see if i can find the scenes.

Just watched the trailer. Some epically bad fake beards going on.....

Great dialogue:-

"May I ask which church you attend?"

"I don't got time for no church"
"I grow old … I grow old …
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled"

OK, go to sec 48 of this video for one of the funniest speeches in the movie. You can see the whole thing on youtube. I actually missed most of the movie before this scene as i came to the movie late.

This review tells a very different story.
I was flicking through the TV guide and thought this movie looked interesting. Was in for the surprise of my life!! I never thought in this day and age I would ever see such an insightful movie! The truth of the Bible and Jesus Christ as it should be presented is most unusual on TV today. This was the type of movie I would have expected to see 40 or 50 years ago. Jesus Christ presented as He should be presented - our Lord and Savior who was sent to earth by God the Father to die for our sins so we may spend eternity in Heaven. The Bible was presented in true form. It was a most pleasant find and I hope many saw this insightful presentation. The acting was superior which could only lead me to believe the actors presented their true views.

I detect dishonesty on your part. I think you were knocked off your feet by the awesome power of the Holy Spirit and were afraid to admit it so like all atheist scum you laughed and mocked with nervousness knowing full well underneath it all that truth was being blasted into your mind like a 12 gauge shot.

:funny:

So the 1880a were a golden era for Christian morality?

I won't even begin to list the dreadful things that went on in the name of Christianity back then...

The mental frame of reference that can even begin to contemplate and take seriously the sort of scenario this movie seems to be about scares me witless. Or it would if it didn't have me laughing so much!

If you can bear to watch it when the machine actually sends the guy into the future notice that the scientist who operates the machine wears goggles to protect his eyes from the beams. But he doesn't give his buddy getting hit with all the light beams any goggles.

I love this. Richard Riehle is going to be in the upcoming (TV?) film Gay Baby.

Oh the hypocrisy of it all :funny:

I had two big disappointed expectations with the movie.. I had hoped to see a scene where the time traveler saw some gay guys kissing. Also, i was also surprised he didn't remark on all the black people going to school with whites and acting 'uppity'.

When he goes back in time to his friend and relays all the horrors he witnessed I hoped he'd add something LIKE "Yes, and they let let niggers do whatever they please.".

Don't forget the women voting and a longer average life span, orphans being treated well, the mentally ill getting proper medical help instead of instead of being put in abusive mad houses, various vaccines, larger understanding of the universe, space travel and all that other evil shit of the modern world.
