Samson and Delilah
Written and directed by the toddler over the road when I was a kid in Alice Springs in the 1970s. It is mostly in Warlpiri, a western desert Aboriginal language with a fair bit of English thrown it - all actors speak in their own languages (English subtitles where appropriate). My best mate in the early 1970s (the directors older brother - haven't seen him for 20+ years) plays an itinerant alcoholic, more-or-less a former version of his real self.
Although it may look like a forum, this site is actually a crowd-sourced science project modelling the slow but inexorable heat death of the universe.

Silmido (a Korean film, of course ) really kicked my ass, not because of the quality of acting or directing (mediocre, not really bad), but because it's based on a true story. The S. Korean gov't assembled a squad of criminals on death row, sequestered them on an island, trained them to be a crack commando team focused on assassinating then-N. Korean leader, Kim Il Sung, etc. I freakin' loved it. You can find it with Engrishee subs.

FBM, there was a film about a Korean soldier released a couple of years ago that got good press here in the States. Do you recall that one?
