Yes, and I loathe agreeing. I fucking hate Star Trek... but JJ Abrams....

Looks more sucky then an octopuses tentacle.

I´m starting to think they may just pull this off. I´m normally a bit meh on Trek movies and was very meh when I first heard about this one, but it could be OK. Plus Scotty could be the best piece of casting ever.

Well from the rumours it seems that it's going to create some alternative timeline type thing.. so star trek is going to get a whole new life and JJ can do what he likes with the characters

Nothing has to adhere to reality in the movies. My favorite WTF moments are always where the good guy gets a nice clean flesh wound and is back in action in the next scene. We're evidently supposed to forget that he got perforated. Not to mention the fact that grown men tend to get rather whiney when they've been shot. They make the most irrational demand, "Help me. Stop the bleeding. Give me morphine." :banghead: :nono:

I'm such a geek, I just watched the trailers and the first thing that sprang to mind is why the fuck would you build a spaceship that big at the bottom of a gravity well?????

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Well it sure glitters nicely, but is it gold?
