The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Im not going to see it for about 6 months to a year, silly BBC making their online service unavailable outside the UK. :lay: Got a whale autopsy to watch on the national geographic channel at 9 though :saw:
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

Sigh. They did it again. Wish they wouldn't keep doing that. It was great up until the last ten minutes then someone bolted the end of a different story on.

Still, better than the shit with the bus that was on in the Spring.

It's a good thing they made Sir Killalot a lot better than Gadget. I am watching the confidential on BBC 3 and that thing is pathetic.

I thought it was brilliant, especially the bit where that girl was trapped in a room and the water started pouring in on her so she looked up her last message from home on the computer. The ending didn't do justice to the rest of it though, it was a bit overblown.

So watch it on the iplayer. :dono:

I thought it was good. And the ending is gearing up for his transformation, so I expect it will be seen as necessary once we get to see the last two specials at xmas.

I am surprised that anyone thought the ending was out of sync. The whole episode was about the Doctor's control over time and whether/if he should change the events he was involved with. Worked out very well I thought.

Well [geek] I was wondering what the relationship was between the water and the original inhabitants of Mars, as clearly it seemed to transform them into something resembling Ice Warriors (so were the Ice Warriors some sort of product of something viral acting on an earlier species?) who appeared to understand an ancient Martian dialect, but that was never explained [/geek]. Other than that it was great up until the end I thought, even the shit robot. I'll shut up now.
