I will never forget the first time I heard this, at Tower Records in San Francisco. Quadrophonic stereo had just been introduced. Four friends and I were shrooming, and we stood in the middle of the four speakers hearing this for the first time. I just about lost my marbles. The experience was transcendent.Ian wrote:One of my all-time favorite songs, especially the live versions.

Re: Pink Floyd
When I was 19 and first bought the Delicate Sound of Thunder concert CD I used to put my head between my stereo speakers facing each other and play this song. During the middle section (between 2:30 and 3:25) I'd crank up the volume and bass my brains out.maiforpeace wrote: I will never forget the first time I heard this, at Tower Records in San Francisco. Musically and aurally, it's the best version of this song that I know of.

A somewhat obscure Floyd song, if anyone's feeling a litle spaced out...

OK, I know I'm going to get flayed - but I've listened to almost every song posted here, and 95% do absolutely nothing for me, spark no interest in me at all. Maybe this is the downside of never having taken drugs.

I guess some people just aren't wired to get Floyd.

I guess some people just aren't wired to enjoy life.
