Re: Ricky Gervais does it.
I saw the first ad earlier on for it.
Its a 12's movie so I'm sceptical.

The invention of lying is an atheist film..it turns out
I went to see the Invention of Lying today. I really enjoyed it too. Rickie Gervais in rather less embarrassing territory than some of his stuff. What I hadn't realised was that in it there is a take on theism and atheism - albeit a simplistic one in it too. I won't give anything away except the concept, which is that it takes place in a world where nobody ever or has the ability to lie, but one day someone stumbles upon it.

Your post should have been merged with mine - not the reverse! Abuse of Mod powers..the thin end of the wedge!Gawdzilla wrote:Rumertron wrote:I went to see the Invention of Lying today. Anyway, the chronlogically first post takes pride of place automatically. I just merged them, the software took it from there. Sorry for any confusion.

As I said elsewhere, a gang of atheists are planning to see it on the 23rd, which just so happens to be my first day of freedom.Rumertron wrote:Great movie though!

..or maybe that should be..

Re: Ricky Gervais does it.
Has anyone seen this here?
A few people on RDF have although they all seem to be more excited over the films atheist content rather than the film itself.
If I was going to like a film merely because of its atheist message then The Passion would be my favourite film ever.
Anyone got anything else to add?
