... if you register (a mere formality), then you can record your observing locations, which makes it easy to find out when the ISS will be coming your way. I saw it twice last night, once at dusk, the second time during complete darkness. It took around 3 minutes to transit across the sky, covering about 1,300 km in that time. Once the sky is clear and the angle is not too low, it is practically impossible to miss.
