Attracting theists

Post by charlou » Mon Sep 07, 2009 6:04 am

A very interesting discussion on attracting and involving theists to their forum (TAF), which may or may not be of interest here, has been opened by Dev over at TAF: Attracting Theists to the forum

I'll be posting an acknowledgment in the thread at TAF with a link to this one. Image

Me neither. I'm not a member over there. :dono:

EDIT:
I'd be interested in seeing the rationale behind wanting to ATTRACT theists to the forum.

Personally I can't see why we'd want to .... but I'm pretty new here I guess. :dono:

Hmmm...not sure about this idea. I don't know why a theist would want to come here. Rationalia is the pub / noticeboard / online flirting service for a fairly small, self-selecting group. I don't see what a theist would get out of coming here. Maybe be nice to have Jerome over here though, if he's not already a member.

Just a thought for those members (if there are any :dono: ) who might want to discuss religious views with theists.

I must say, it's certainly nice to have a peaceful and rational retreat from that here, so maybe not ...

I think that's the key to this place. If we want to discuss religion, we can go to RDF. Here we can get away from that (and laugh at them behind their backs without having to face any preaching in return :shifty: or risk offending anyone with our atheistic dogma :dq: ).

I wouldn't complain if any turned up and it would be interesting to see what they'd make of the place, but actively attracting them would seem like our intention was just to get ourselves some deluded chewtoys to play with. :dono:

Over at atheistforums.org they are now coming in at regular intervals, and we do not even make any effort in attracting them. Fr0d0 is there, you might remember him from TAF, and now some more have flocked in. I can't be bothered debating them really. They have this hangup on TAG it seems, which bores me to tears.

I think I have them enough here around me - this is my safe heaven to get away from them and their bullsh*t stories.
