Inhibition, well, you can fly
Out the window to the clear blue sky
It will mess your suit, it will make you cry

Putin's villa lost protection.
Air Defenses Destroyed: With the jamming station knocked out, a follow-up strike on August 10, 2026, targeted an advanced S-400 "Triumph" anti-aircraft missile launch pad located just 12 miles from the villa. Satellite imagery confirmed that the system caught fire and burned for three hours, completely destroying at least one launcher.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre held a joint, direct phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin to urge the resumption of peace negotiations and convey key diplomatic messages ahead of upcoming international summits. This call, initiated by the Nordic leaders, marks a significant diplomatic shift as the first time a European ally of Ukraine has spoken directly with Putin since mid-2025.
Stubb and Støre briefed Zelenskyy after the call. “I am grateful for the detailed briefing and for their active support for our diplomacy and the peace efforts we are pursuing together with all our partners,” the Ukrainian president said in a post on X. “Alex and Jonas made it clear to the Russian leader that real de-escalatory steps are needed regarding our energy and infrastructure.”

“We discussed preparations for the trilateral meeting planned for November at the team level — Ukrainian, American, and Russian,” Zelenskyy said. “Finland and Norway, as countries that border Russia, have a particular interest in sound and reliable security arrangements. We also discussed various formats for our engagement with partners in Europe that could be useful in further supporting diplomacy, our defense, and our shared security.”

The last staunch European supporter of Ukraine to speak to Putin at leader level is believed to have been French President Emmanuel Macron in July 2025
