Cool video. The historical parallel is obvious. Of course scientific inquiry around trans issues is only one of the targets of a pretty wide-ranging wrecking ball.
Yeah. Dr Fatima, a physicist, had their grants summarily terminated - and their group was working in the area of science communication and the public understanding of science.

Out the window to the clear blue sky
It will mess your suit, it will make you cry
It doesn't matter, give me Mumdane pie

Bolsonaro lost! However, the rotten scion of the rotten paterfamilias continues to follow the playbook.
'US Urged to Recognize Lula’' Win as Trump Ally Flávio Bolsonaro Demands "Annulment"'
Pro-democracy campaigners urged governments around the world, including in the US, to formally recognize Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva victory in Sunday’s runoff election as his far-right challenger, Sen. Flávio Bolsonaro, refused to accept the results, sparking fears of political violence and another coup attempt.
“It is impossible to recognize the results. I am going to request the annulment of these elections,” said Bolsonaro, the son of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who was convicted last year over a plot to violently maintain power following Lula’s 2022 election win. On Sunday, the younger Bolsonaro pointed to the Brazilian Supreme Court’s decision to keep polls open for two hours past the scheduled deadline as a reason to dispute the results—even though both Lula and Bolsonaro pushed for the extension, for different reasons.

Bolsonaro jnr will soon be seeking alternative employment, as his senate term ends in February - at which point he'll lose his immunity from prosecution. He may even wish to seek alternative residency before that day. He doesn't strike me as a man who has the stomach for political martyrdom.

Bloody foreign wannabe dictators... coming over here... undercutting our home-grown, hard-working indigenous potentates and putting them out of business...
