Aye, I’m a fan of the dub and dancehall music that came out of Jamaica’s sound system parties —so different from what I was used to as a kid, despite being built with all the oldest influences including lots of pop!

Rap has got so much talent, especially from the north. I think a lot of those guys make the better music —obvious exceptions and grace for ignorance please :biggrin: But southern guys are real grassroots hard working promoters too, and they also make music about the crazy lives they and their fans are living, all while still living among the fans.
