Trump was confronted about mRNA. He just barely understood the qustion. "Oh yeah, we are not doing that. We are doing other things."
https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-n ... rcna223281
"After reviewing the science and consulting top experts at NIH and FDA, HHS has determined that mRNA technology poses more risks than benefits for these respiratory viruses," Kennedy said in a video announcement on X.

"Let me be absolutely clear, HHS supports safe, effective vaccines for every American who wants them," he added. "That's why we're moving beyond the limitations of mRNA for respiratory viruses and investing in better solutions."
As far as the effectiveness of mRNA against COVID, the better solutions will be..in Europe...also mRNA.

🚨 BREAKING: The US Supreme Court has been asked to overturn the ruling legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide.
Curious if the Gays for Trump people have any comments.

BREAKING: Several gay dating apps are reportedly threatening that, if the Supreme Court bans gay marriage, they'll reveal all the closeted Republican officials and members of Congress who have accounts on their platforms.

FYI: The case to overturn same-sex marriage, was brought forth for “religious reasons” by a woman who’s been married 4 times to 3 men, and who’s twins were fathered by her 3rd husband, while she was still married to the 1st. MAGA math and FaMiLy VaLuEs.

Those radical leftist...Muslims?
Qasim Rashid, Esq.
@QasimRashid@mastodon.social
Mamadani won the NYC Democratic primary & Jeffries, Schumer, & Gillibrand won’t endorse him.

Omar Fateh won the Democratic Party endorsement for Minneapolis mayor & Tim Walz won’t endorse him.

Bowman & Bush were the Democratic incumbents & the Dem Party let AIPAC take them out.

"Vote blue no matter who" always meant "vote blue as long as they're corporate centrists." Is it any wonder the party has a 26% approval rating?

But their constituency isn't voters, it's donors. So what the dems are scared of is offending "corporate America".
Rationalia relies on voluntary donations. There is no obligation of course, but if you value this place and want to see it continue please consider making a small donation towards the forum's running costs.
Details on how to do that can be found here.

Texas Democrats say they will return to the state's legislature, ending a two-week stand-off over the proposed gerrymandering of its seats in the US House of Representatives that could favour US President Donald Trump and Republicans.

Their return comes only after Democrats in California launched a counter-effort to redraw their own congressional districts to disadvantage Republicans in the upcoming 2026 midterm elections.

Dozens of Texas House Democrats left the state more than two weeks ago to deny their Republican-majority colleagues the attendance necessary to vote on redrawn maps intended to elect five more Texas Republicans to the US lower house.

They declared victory after Republicans adjourned that first special session, and Democrats around rallied in opposition to the Trump-led gerrymandering effort.

Their decision to return will allow the Republican-run legislature to radically redraw the state's seats in the US lower house, but that will now be offset by tit-for-tat changes in California.
To me, this is a perfect example of how flawed democracy is in the US. The whole gerrymander thing is an affront to sane, sensible representative voting. Juggling electoral boundaries for partisan political purposes, whether by Republicans or Democrats, makes a complete farce of elections. They need an independent Electoral Commission like in Australia.

But but...states get to run elections. it's in the constitution. Trump can't block mail voting.

As far as I understand, California has an independent electoral commission. So it might be hard for Newsom to gerrymander there.
