We Need To Take Trump’s Rhetoric Seriously, But Not Literally
Almost every day, the establishment seems to get it wrong trying to use Donald Trump’s words to paint him as a dire threat to our democracy. What so many fail to see—and what his supporters have long understood—is that Trump is a showman. When he speaks at rallies, he’s not telling us about his literal policy positions. More often than not, he’s just trying to entertain.
COUNTERPOINT
Have That Guy Killed
All right, hello. That guy? The one making the points about me? Have him killed. Dead. I want that very much. I’m serious about this: I want you to go to wherever he lives, as soon as possible, and put a bullet in his brain.

History question 100 years from now:
Why did the president deploy troops and federalize DC police force in 2025?
Ans. Because 15-year-olds beat up a DOGE staffer named 'Big Balls'
(two girls car jacked him)

White House Wants Big Balls to Get Same Medal as Rosa Parks
daily beastTwo weeks after 19-year-old Edward Coristine was viciously assaulted during a carjacking in Washington D.C., the White House says it would consider giving the administration official a Presidential Medal of Freedom for his bravery.
The issue was raised during a White House briefing in which press secretary Karoline Leavitt invited MAGA pundit Benny Johnson to ask the first question, as has become customary under the new administration.
After talking about his own personal experience with violence in D.C., thanking Leavitt for Trump’s actions and slamming Democrats, Johnson asked if the president would consider Coristine—better known by his online nickname “Big Balls”—for a Presidential Medal of Freedom in view of his “heroic actions just a few blocks from this building.”
“Perhaps it’s something he would consider,” Leavitt replied.
Coristine, who helped Elon Musk earlier this year to slash the federal government and now works with the Social Security Administration, was left bloodied after he was approached by teenagers at around 3 a.m. in Dupont Circle, a lively neighborhood in northwest Washington.
A 15-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy were subsequently arrested and remain in juvenile jail as the investigation continues.

Trump administration accuses UK of failing to uphold human rights
The Trump administration has accused the UK of backsliding on human rights over the past year, citing antisemitic violence and “serious restrictions” on free speech.
The annual US state department assessment, which analyses human rights conditions worldwide, highlighted laws limiting speech around abortion clinics, as well as the way government officials “repeatedly intervened to chill speech” online after the 2024 Southport attack.
The report stated: “The government sometimes took credible steps to identify and punish officials who committed human rights abuses, but prosecution and punishment for such abuses was inconsistent.”
The report cited the “safe access zones” around abortion clinics, which it said “could include prohibitions on efforts to influence … even through prayer or silent protests”.
Criticism over the handling of free speech – in particular relating to regulations on online hate speech – was also directed at the governments of Germany and France...

"This mission"
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white- ... rcna224506A defense official told NBC News that guard members will specifically be engaged in crowd management, perimeter control, security and communications support for law enforcement. The official said that in most cases, they won’t be carrying firearms.
While Trump's memorandum said the mobilization would end once he determines that the "conditions of law and order have been restored in the District of Columbia," the troops were notified they would be deployed until Sept. 25.
“Currently, the National Guard is being deployed to protect federal assets, provide a safe environment for law enforcement officers to make arrests and deter violent crime with a visible law enforcement presence," a White House official said Monday.
Standing alongside Trump as he announced the executive order, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that people should expect to see the guard members "flowing into the streets of Washington in the coming week" and that they were prepared to bring in other specialized units.
Trump's memorandum also directed Hegseth to coordinate with governors across the country and "authorize the orders of any additional members of the National Guard to active service, as he deems necessary and appropriate, to augment this mission."

Re: All Things Trump: The Return Of The King
From my local news group
" Let’s not pretend that sending troops to LA or DC is about crime in any way. It is about bullying Democratic cities and their leaders. Trump omitted five of the “top ten” high-crime-rate cities in his threat to “federalize” US cities. They are all in red states: Memphis, Little Rock, Cleveland, Birmingham, and Kansas City. The headlines/discussion should highlight his bigotry toward the people in DC. Not legal technicalities."
Then Barrie shared this on the story about May Mailman, the White House staffer that is active in the disputes with major universities.
“We don’t want to run these universities,” Ms. Mailman added. “We want some sweeping changes that set things in the right trajectory.” Translation: We want the universities to capitulate to our conservative, pro-bigotry agenda and adopt the values/goals of Project 2025. Once they become just like us, we don't have to "run" them."

Re: All Things Trump: The Return Of The King
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/liv ... ws-updatesMuriel Bowser last night hardened her stance on Donald Trump using federal agents to police the city, calling the president’s move an “authoritarian push”.
Speaking during a live town hall on social media, the mayor of Washington DC urged community members to “protect our city, to protect our autonomy, to protect our home rule and get to the other side of this guy and make sure we elect a Democratic House so that we have a backstop to this authoritarian push”.
“We are not 700,000 scumbags and punks,” she added. “We don’t have neighborhoods that should be bulldozed. We have to be clear about our story, who we are and what we want for our city.”
