Trump is not using martial law to distract from the Epstein files. Trump's authoritarian takeover is not a distraction. It's the goal. The Epstein files should be released, but the authoritarian takeover is the real story & everyone needs to pay attention. LA was just the beginning & immigrants were just the first group put in concentration camps without due process. DC's homeless could be next. Trump wants to take over all blue cities & lock up anyone he dislikes. We all need to fight back.

US President Donald Trump says he is cracking down on crime in Washington DC through a federal takeover of the local police force.
He has also announced plans to deploy at least 800 National Guard members in the US capital.
Local authorities are pushing back on the plan, pointing to data that shows a substantial crime decrease since a post-pandemic surge in violence.
Donald Trump says his administration is seizing control of the Washington DC police department and deploying the National Guard to crack down on local crime and "clear" the city of homelessness.
The US president has been warning the capital of a federal takeover since a former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) staffer was allegedly assaulted during an attempted carjacking last week.
The unusual move represents another push to expand his presidential powers to new areas by utilising emergency powers.
Mr Trump said Chicago could be next. "Hopefully LA is watching," he added.
But Washington represents an easier starting point because, as the national capital, it comes under federal control. Congress has ultimate jurisdiction over the city, but the president can take control of the police department for 30 days if he determines there is an emergency.
Speaking at a White House press conference, Mr Trump said at least 800 National Guard troops would be deployed in an effort to "rescue our nation's capital from crime, bloodshed, bedlam and squalor".
"Our capital city has been overtaken by violent gangs and bloodthirsty criminals," he said.
"We will bring in the military if it's needed, by the way."
Local data shows violent crime has decreased in recent years after a crime wave in 2023, which authorities described as a post-pandemic spike.
Washington DC is among major American cities dealing with a post-COVID surge in youth violence, and responding by enforcing a night-time curfew. But will it work?
In January this year, the Department of Justice said violent crime was down 35 per cent on the previous year, and had hit a 30-year low.
Preliminary police data says it has fallen another 26 per cent this year.
But homicide rates remain high. Centers for Disease Control data shows DC had more murders per capita than any of the 50 US states, though city-specific data suggests St Louis, New Orleans and Detroit have higher murder rates.
Because the District of Columbia is not a state, the US government — via Congress — has additional authority over Washington DC.
The city's residents elect a mayor and local councillors, but the district does not have a governor and Congress retains ultimate control.
Mayor Muriel Bowser, a Democrat, argues the city is having significant success managing crime. She has previously taken measures widely seen as designed to fend off federal intervention — including the removal of Washington's Black Lives Matter Plaza in March.
Washington attorney-general Brian Schwalb described Mr Trump's move as unprecedented, unnecessary and unlawful.

At least they'll have a roof over their heads in the camps. Democrats fine about them littering the streets in a drug fueled haze till they die.

Re: All Things Trump: The Return Of The King
1440 Media 222 W Merchandise Mart Plaza, Suite 1212 Chicago, IL 60654DC National Guard
President Donald Trump declared a public safety emergency in Washington, DC, yesterday, activating 800 DC National Guard members over concerns of violent crime. He also invoked the 1973 Home Rule Act to take control of the city’s police department for a maximum of 30 days. Over 100 FBI agents will be temporarily reassigned to nighttime patrol duties.
Federal data found crime in the district is at a 30-year low. Trump has cast doubt on the findings, pointing to a police commander who was recently suspended for allegedly falsifying crime data. He also highlighted recent violent incidents in DC, including a former DOGE employee [BIG BALLS] who was attacked in a carjacking and an intern for Rep. Ron Estes (R, KS-4) killed last month.
Attorney General Pam Bondi will oversee federal control of DC’s police, with DEA Administrator Terry Cole serving as interim federal commissioner. Trump hopes the federal takeover will model crime reduction tactics for other cities. See the US' deadliest cities here.

Re: All Things Trump: The Return Of The King
NYT By Adam B. Kushner
Trump began talking about a takeover last week, after a prominent member of the Department of Government Efficiency was beaten in an attempted carjacking. The president spent the weekend posting online about Washington’s dangers. “Our capital city has been overtaken by violent gangs and bloodthirsty criminals, roving mobs of wild youth, drugged-out maniacs and homeless people,” he said yesterday.
Context. Violent crime, especially murder, surged after the pandemic, cresting in 2023. I worked at The Washington Post at the time and sat near reporters on the local crime beat; they had a frantic year. I could also feel a sense of unease among my neighbors. In recent years, people tried to break into my family’s home and car.
How bad is it? Trump says the murder rate is out of control, my colleague Katie Rogers reports. That’s not true, at least not anymore.
Bail. Washington is among a number of cities and states led by Democrats that let most people await trial out of jail without having to post bail. Here’s a helpful explainer about how it works. Conservatives say this policy worsens crime by letting lawbreakers roam free. Trump, for example, said that a murderer could be “out on no-cash bail.” That’s false — homicide suspects are not eligible for the program. And researchers have found that it doesn’t lead to more crime.
Homelessness. Trump says he hopes to clear out the city’s homeless population. “We will give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital,” he wrote online.
Police power. The same law lets the president take control of the D.C. police for up to 30 days under “special conditions of an emergency nature.” Trump invoked it yesterday. He said that the head of the U.S. Marshals Service will help run the department. “If you’re soft, weak and pathetic,” Trump warned him at that lectern during the press conference, “I will fire you so fast.”
Other federal forces. Trump says F.B.I. agents will monitor the streets at night; many will be reassigned from their duties in the Washington field office, my colleague Devlin Barrett reports. The president has also mobilized 800 National Guard troops to help. The soldiers will be focused on logistics and transportation, the Pentagon reporters Eric Schmitt and Helene Cooper write, so Washington residents may not see them. (A trial began in California yesterday about Trump’s use of the National Guard to quell immigration protests in Los Angeles this summer. Here’s the status of that case.)

Re: All Things Trump: The Return Of The King
NYT, Michael C. Bender
"When President Trump wants to rattle academia, he turns to his deputy chief of staff, Stephen Miller. And then Mr. Miller turns to May Mailman.
"Ms. Mailman, a 37-year-old Harvard-trained lawyer, is the most important, least-known person behind the administration’s relentless pursuit of the nation’s premier universities. The extraordinary effort has found seemingly endless ways to pressure schools into submission, including federal funding, student visas and civil rights investigations."
"The policies Ms. Mailman helped devise — and is now leveraging as she leads the White House’s negotiations with colleges — have sent shock waves through higher education, dividing faculty and alarming some students who see an effort to silence dissent. The aggressive tactics could have far-reaching implications for the future of academic freedom, the admissions practices at the most competitive colleges and the global reputations for some of the crown jewels of the nation’s university system."
"Ms. Mailman wrote the executive orders Mr. Trump signed on his first day in office that redefined the federal government’s stance on sex to acknowledge only two genders and dismantled policies aimed at promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. By June, these changes had forced the University of Pennsylvania to align its athletic policies with the administration’s view that transgender girls and women should be banned from participating in women’s sports."
"Ms. Mailman said she did not join the second Trump administration to take down Harvard, where she mostly enjoyed her time as a graduate student.
"Instead, she was recruited by Susie Wiles, the White House chief of staff, and Mr. Miller because of her various roles in the White House during Mr. Trump’s first term. For the second term, she would help with the transition, write Mr. Trump’s deluge of initial executive orders and help set up a process for turning his campaign promises into policy. She had always planned to depart after six months, she said."
"The gender-based executive orders she wrote prompted opposition from human rights advocates who argued the directives perpetuate discrimination. Student and faculty groups have accused the administration of trampling on the First Amendment in trying to dictate who schools can hire, what students they can admit and which subjects they can teach."
"Inside the White House, Ms. Mailman’s ruthless efficiency and engaging personality has earned her praise from superiors and loyalty from junior staff members. Despite her fearsome role in dragging university lawyers to the negotiating table, some who have made deals with the government have privately complimented her pragmatism in balancing competing interests within the administration with the universities’ needs."
Ms. Mailman is the daughter of an American physician who married a Korean. The family moved back to the U.S. and she was raised in Kansas. She has a journalism degree from the University of Kansas and is a graduate of Harvard Law School. She was recruited to work in the first Trump administration by a Harvard classmate.
"In 2024, Ms. Mailman was named the director of the Independent Women’s Law Center. The center is a project of the Independent Women’s Forum, a Virginia-based nonprofit created by a coalition of women who supported Justice Clarence Thomas during his contentious nomination hearings in the early 1990s.
"In recent weeks, a combination of funding cuts and civil rights investigations resulted in settlements with Columbia and Brown University. Ms. Mailman is in active negotiations with other elite schools, Cornell University and Northwestern University, along with Harvard."
“We don’t want to run these universities,” Ms. Mailman added. “We want some sweeping changes that set things in the right trajectory.”

Whatever Jizzlaine has on Trump, it must be pretty fucking serious.
And she must have it in secure storage somewhere far offsite triggered to release on her death.
Otherwise I'm having a hard time understanding why the cameras haven't failed or whatever they called it when her boss "committed suicide"
