There might not be anything to that svarty.
Ukraine Doesn’t Actually Have Minable Rare Earths

To begin with, the contentious 28 February Oval Office meeting can’t be understood without a crucial piece of context: there are no deposits of rare-earth ore in Ukraine known to be minable in an economically viable way. And that would be true even if full-scale warfare were not raging in the country’s east, where a great deal of its mineral resources are concentrated.

gnééé? if whatever rare earth deposits Ukraine has are not minable in profitable ways, and that would explain why Ukraine has not yet replace China as Europe's main provider of those, why has there been such a ruckus about the things and why did frump blackmail zelensky into signing that agreement? It makes no sense at all.

Interesting story on phone cord development. Is this the right link?

There is no telling what Trump and his people are thinking. Someone in the US government knows Ulraine's rare-earth circumstances, so either they got DOGE'd or this is some kind of weird kabuki.

Auatralia has large amounts of rare earth and other strategic minerals, a useful alternative to China...

Yes, that’s it. Thank you. This reminds me of a geology professor that enjoyed laughing about Turkey’s attempts to find large oil reserves despite all the skepticism from experts. She used to laugh out loud about a pair of Russian conmen who had convinced the government their “tech” could find oil others hadn’t—it was just too obvious to her.

Maybe that’s what we have here… :dunno:

No need for SNAP food assistance now. Food is so cheap even poor people can eat.

"Big beautiful bill" may pass house at 1AM session. But if it cuts both Medicaid and Medicare, will not likely pass the senate.

Walmart and an Amazon warehoue in Montana unable to hire 6 million people from Trump bill!
Changes in Medicaid work requirements
Republicans say their main goal is reducing "waste, fraud, and abuse" within Medicaid, the health care program for lower income Americans and those with disabilities, in order to achieve hundreds of billions in savings over the next decade.

Early estimates requested by House Democrats put the number of people who could lose coverage at more than 8 million, but that number continues to fluctuate and the Congressional Budget Office has not yet released its final score of the GOP bill, which is not yet even finalized itself.

The bill imposes new work requirements on able-bodied Medicaid recipients aged 19-64 who don't have dependents, which includes working at least 80 hours per month. The bill also requires states to conduct eligibility redeterminations at least every 6 months for all recipients.
