Did not finish the above but might yet.

This however was brilliant

Even tho I’ve read the book and of course seen Patton, it is a wonderful portrayal of the best subterfuge ever pulled off. Good choice of cast and to see Fleming in the heart of it too.

BTW the book Body Guard of Lies is a real eye opener about what you THOUGHT you knew about WWII
Image
Absolute eye opener for me - much of what it covered in the top secret archives was not released until 1994.
For me perhaps, the line " the most important book of WWII" was correct.

I am currently watching "The Big Bang Theory" for the first time. Currently at 7th season. A lot of popular memes come from this show without me having been aware of that.

Jim
Due to the weather i've been getting more watch time than normal but I've been a film buff since uni days when I took a few courses in film in addition to the modern english and philosophy degree.
I'm also multi-tasking at times when watching - our kitchen is entirely open to the deck/living area where the screens are.
I read a lot as well, listen to audio books when riding plus photography.
No family here in Aus and my social group is limited to partners except for one riding friend. Lots of online activity tho.
Both content and visual/audio quality of media viewing are big interests.
One 3 hour night at the Bowls club on Thursday is the extent of our socialization and I'm only peripheral to it.
Even exercise is set up so I can watch the big screen with headphones on. I find exercise on its own very boring. Audio-book while exercising okay tho.
Has to be an exceptional movie to go to the iMax theater. Once in a while a live classical concert.
When riding is available, I'm far more engaged in the region....

Now back to reviewing the election news, getting some brekkie and thanks to the weather...watching the Hitler series. :coffee:

Bodkin took a while to get going but worth it....from the Obamas too.
Good assessment.
Bodkin review – a funny Irish thriller for Only Murders in the Building fans

It takes a while to find its groove, but this tale of American true-crime podcasters who travel to Cork in search of cases – from the Obamas’ production company – is well worth sticking with

Mixed impressions on Bodkin. I did watch it all.
Maybe the accents and Irish countryside/seaside saved it. It was "okay"

This was terrific

Learned lots but not what passes for civilization now has... :banghead:

Purely for the music
I loved the TV series and the movie was a good translation to a more modern venue.

Hearing Bush and Cheny and others narrate their experiences very good.

his is well done docu on tsunamis...no trailer I could find

https://curiositystream.com/title/video/3321

Some incredible video ...one city hit only 2 minutes after the earthquake......stay off the shaky coast. :thinks: If the Cascade fault on west coast N America goes there will be very little time to get away.
on prime
