This fatuous entitled arsewipe (nominally a Democrat) appears to be angling for a position on the Trump ticket as the nominee for vice president. Admitting I may be giving him too much credit.

'RFK Jr. says he'd sign a federal ban on abortions after three months of pregnancy'
Long-shot Democratic presidential candidate and conspiracy theorist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Sunday that he would support a national ban on abortion after the first three months of pregnancy if he is elected.

“I believe a decision to abort a child should be up to the women during the first three months of life,” Kennedy said in an interview at the Iowa State Fair here. Pressed about whether that meant signing a federal ban at 15 or 21 weeks, he said yes.

“Once a child is viable outside the womb, I think then the state has an interest in protecting the child,” he said, adding: “I’m for medical freedom. Individuals are able to make their own choices.”

The stance puts Kennedy — who’s mounting a controversial bid to unseat President Joe Biden as the Democratic standard-bearer next year — out of step with most of his party at a time when abortion access has been a sustained motivator for voters.

Kennedy defended running as a Democrat despite espousing multiple typically conservative talking points in the 15-minute interview.

Fun fact: Kennedy was a speaker at a Rallye in Berlin/Germany in 2020 where some parts of the corona deniers then later on tried to storm the German parliament

People are comparing GOP and other candidates on other forums. They think neither Trump or Biden can work for them. They won't bother to vote.

In those discussions crooked/incompetent Hillary came up again.
"I am endorsing Hillary, and all her lies and all her empty promises," O'Rourke continued. "It's the second-worst thing that can happen to this country, but she's way behind in second place. She's wrong about absolutely everything, but she's wrong within normal parameters."

While many Republicans are falling in line — however reluctantly — behind de facto GOP nominee Donald Trump, O'Rourke is joining other prominent conservative authors like Bill Kristol, George Will and Erick Erickson in continuing to oppose a Trump candidacy.

I wonder if the 2024 presidential election might have a record low voter turnout...

That’s because you’re sick of our politics. We all are.

But I think people are showing up. People may start to consider the Trump years more than the person. What are they worried about losing now that they’ve seen what the Trump years have done… abortion rights will be huge, as will the assault on education —the fact that DeSantis is seen as capable of pulling off Trump’s vision may also bring people out…

My though was that if (as expected) the candidates are Trump and Biden, many Americans will not like either of them (for a variety of reasons) and will take the easiest path, not voting...

Maybe. I know people who still don’t vote.

The purity brigade hounded Franken out of the US Senate for accusations of butt grabbing and some creeper 'comic' photos. But for Menendez, well, we want to be very careful to not jump to any conclusions; innocent till proven guilty and all that.

I was not a citizen till the mid 70s, and voted from 1980 on. I could not see being a citizen for some personal benefit and then not bothering to vote.
